Description

Sorry for the B&W photography... color was to expensive.

My PC is constantly evolving, a Frankenstein of components from older builds and newer parts. Mostly excited about the new case by Lian-li. A great opportunity to start learning costume water cooling.

Moved my hardware from a NZXT S340 their new address is roomy and stylish. I pre-ordered the Lian-Li PC-O11D a month ago on HardwareCanucks recommendation and have no regrets. constantly checking the order statue it was delayed a week not sure why. Building in it so far has been a joy.

Next on the list is to get a pump, reservoir, hard tubing, radiators and get this case doing what its designed for.

Great presentation in black and white. Don't change a single picture.

I'd wager if you added more story to your description, you'd be featured.

Thumbs up.

Did you just buy a 4k monitor and spend almost $2000, and only come away with a 1050ti? yikes

Yeah this makes absolutely no sense.

Hoping to finish mine this month... Just need the processor. Also 2600X with 1050 Ti. Went for cheaper B350 mobo and 3200 CL14 RAM. I'm not a hardcore gamer so the 1050 Ti ought to be enough for now.

I’m surprised by the 1050ti it’s preforms way better then expected. Originally got it to hold me over till gpu prices returned to normal. But it’s working fine for me now.

I’m jealous, I got this case preordered on Newegg but it’s backordered and I’m not sure how long it will be until I get mine. I think for now I’m going to do an AIO but once I upgrade my 980ti to something new (hopefully nvidia’s next cards later this year) I might do my first ever custom loop (as terrifying as that sounds!).

  • 1 point

I know exactly what you mean, I'm a little terrified too but this case is screaming custom loop.

  • 2 points

Will you ever upgrade to a 1070 or a 1080. Don't get me wrong the 1050ti is great but i feel like a 1070 will or a 1080 will go great with your parts.

im not sure if going with Gigabyte is a good idea. They're manufactured by hand so the fail rate is a bit higher than other motherboard manufactuers, but i guess this is why they have Back up Bios hahah. Fantastic build overall. But seriously though, if you're going to run a 4k monitor, you'll definitely need a 1070 minimum.

a 2000 dollars build and at the end a 1050ti?

Well... that's a pretty inspirational build...

Maybe I'll actually make a fish tank outta that case one day

Hey the first O11d build! I, like you, want to move from my s340 to the O11d, any regrets with it so far?

Case is great, lots of room but still looks great with out a custom loop.

Looks cinematic :) Very well-put-together! What camera are you using? Seems like a HardwareCanucks type of shot.

  • 1 point

How is the airflow on that case?

  • 1 point

The extra space above the motherboard is crying for a radiator.

  • 1 point

Agreed. I’ll probably move my rad and populate the side with just fans for now.

  • 1 point

looking forward to filling that space.

  • 1 point

The build and pictures look really good! I'm just kinda confused why you have the case against a wall, essentially blocking the vent opening for the fans on the radiator. You've got my +1 though

  • 1 point

I love that case, kinda wish I went with it. Hows the airflow in that bad boy?

  • 1 point

Love the photos, you should revisit the photography after a year, letting the dust a chance to settle.. :D

Fighting against RGB I see :p you get an upvote just for that

My favorite case by far, would be a waste of money to buy it and not use it, but I may just have to do that.

  • 1 point

Is that plaque at the rear of the case removable, or is it riveted in?

  • 2 points

Yes it is removable. I believe it's magnetic.

  • 1 point

Now you just need to do oil cooling in this thing.

  • 1 point

Good work! I am patiently waiting for my PC-O11D to arrive and I too plan to do my first custom water loop. So make sure to post an updated build once you make it. Do you have and ideas for the radiator/pump placements, fan orientation and tube routing?

A quick question. Do all the orange parts on the Mobo change color or are they permanently orange.

Liked the build btw!

The logo is the only rgb on this mobo the rest is painted.

These photos are amazing!! What's your experience with the monitor so far?

  • 2 points

Thanks. love the monitor just wish it was bigger then 27 inches since its 4k, at least 32 inches. I use it for productive not so much gaming.

Appreciate your response. I intend to use it in the exact same way :)

I just finished my PC-011 Dynamic watercooled build. This case is SIMPLY AMAZING. So easy to work in, I put in 2x 360 RADS 9 corsair LL120 fans and a custom RES and it's not even crowded! Check it out https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/FfRJ7P

Mind if i ask... Why 4k monitor with a GTX1050ti ?

Why custom loop when you already have a high end AIO ?

Also.. why the low speed RAM ?

  • 1 point

Your able to change the lights in the bios. The painted part are still there but don’t bother me, it’s closes enough to red.

  • 1 point

Should get 144hz, payed to much for 1050ti vs 1060 and wayyy to much on the m.2 even though it is nice, you could be getting better frame rate with better cpu and gpu, I am making a similar build but I got a 1060 3gb for 90$ and it it totaling to be around 700-800

  • 1 point

What WIFI card?

TL;DR: This build looks great, but the parts selection is questionable at least. Having a CPU cooler that costs more than the GPU as well as a 4K monitor for a 1050Ti and R5 2600X is not looking good on paper.

Oh yikes. I think the pictures and execution is fine, and from an aesthetic standpoint it is great. But the fact that you spent more money on a CPU cooler than a graphics card is irking me to say the least. Also, this system is not going to be good for 4K. Instead of getting a $425 monitor, it would've been much wiser to get a $180 144 Hz 1080p monitor. Then getting a better graphics card at around $265 like a GTX 1660 and selling off the 1050 Ti would result in a much better experience with hardware that is appropriate for the monitor. One more note: before starting water cooling, I believe it would've been better to spend less in a case and water cooling materials and spend more in the hardware inside it. A Noctua DH-15 cooler is able to match most AIOs, and with some Chromax covers, just as pretty in my opinion.

This computer was built as a photo editing workstation and a gaming PC second. A $180 1080p 144hz TN panel would be garbage to edit photographs on. My Dell is perfect for what I need, in all its 10bit ips color and 4K resolution. ummm love it. I’m not sure if you’re old enough to remember the bitcoin mining fad. When this PC was built, graphics card were way overpriced. I never thought a 1050ti was going to game at 4K, It was a place holder till prices normalized. I’m glad it irks you that I had it in my build but unfortunately it has been replaced with a 2080. How much do you think I paid for the aio? I got it 3 years ago at Microcenter as a refurbished unit for $70. This cooler does a great job keeping my cpu cool quietly. When can I expect you to post your PC?
