Forgive me, as this build has caused so many headaches, frustrations, unnecessary money spending and months of nit picking..
I wanted to upgrade from my old build (i5-3690k, 660ti, 8gig ram) and a friend has recommended a new motherboard. Blindly, i bought it and didnt realize until after it came, and i tried to install my CPU, that it was a different chip set.. "No Worrries, i'll buy a new processor" i thought.. With that installed, came a few months of in and out distorted sound, rendering most games i played unplayable. RMA'd only to find out i bent a ton of pins trying to place in the i5.
No big deal. Replacement board was purchased and installed. and a new PSU was bought for an UNREAL deal. hooked it all up, and it would failed to power keyboard, mouse, monitor more times than i would have liked for a new build.. Wasn't the biggest issue, so i dealt for a while.
Finally after endless frustration of having to restart on boot up, i took the computer in, and after a few days of tinkering, and troubleshooting a different PSU, we realized it was the PSU causing issues.
After the PSU swap, the SSD, GPU, and CPU cooler were purchased and installed. (inb4 "Why do you have an unOC-able CPU with such a decent heater?" comments) CPU will be the first to be upgraded down the road. Stock cooler took away from the build, and i wanted quality.
LED's were just a little pick me up to make the components pop, and im actually really stoked on how they turned out. have one arcoss the top in the back, and one vertically on the back of the HDD trays.
For my first "high quality" build, i'm actually incredibly pleased with how well this turned out. And am more ecstatic to have a fully functioning PC.
I didnt realize how big this was going to be, and when i opened er up, i was pretty intimidated by it's size.
It was a LOT easier to get in than people said, an fits real snug. Quiet as all **** and keeps er cool
Lightening fast speeds. Complete boot up in ~5 seconds.
Absolutely beast of a card. Maxes everything i have going. Only gripe is that i wish the red pieces were easier to remove/didnt void the warranty, hard to make a red card fit a not red scheme.
The amount of NZXT cases i've seen after purchasing mine is unreal. Case scratches really easy, and the glass shows off prints like no other, but the case is phenomenal. Cable management is astounding, and it's sleek as all frig.
