Description

Hello world (again) !

Today, I present you my workstation. Workstation because it's where I work, make music and draw. It could also be a not-too-bad gaming build, but I already have a nice PC for games (who got featured last week !).

Again, two things were needed here: silence and enough power to run FL Studio, Photoshop, Word and Excel. Nothing incredible. I didn't go all out, like on my other PC, and that's why the parts here aren't as incredible as the other ones.

About the airflow: Positive pressure all the way: the two fans are intakes. No exhaust, it isn't nedded. The temps are really low the way it is right now, no need to change the fans configuration.

Also note that, even if the PC looks good in my opinion, there isn't as many nice visuals as in my gaming build, for the simple reason that it's a little m-ITX build, without two GPU, without an exceptional motherboard, etc... I'm still quite happy with the quality of the pics.

Speaking about the pics: I own a PC shop, and I have a photographer who works for me. She's the one who took the pictures, and that's why it works so well: because she knows nothing about computer stuff. She has a whole new view on PC parts. She doesn't see the GPU as a GPU, but as a random plastic and metal thing. And it is amazing, because she makes me (and PC fans) see things that we wouldn't have normally. She doesn't focus on the "GTX 1080" or the "i7 6950X" like we would. She focus on little things.

And that's why she's the best photographer in the world.

Part Reviews

CPU

A bit old now, but it does the job ! I was incredibly lucky and was able to overclock it to 4.8Ghz, and without having high temps: 45-50°C after 24h of stress test. At first, I was a little bit concerned about its power, especially for FL Studio (the program I use to make music), because even recent MacBook Pro struggles with it. But it works perfectly. It never lags, even on projects with lot of plugins and effects.

CPU Cooler

It. Is. Totally. Silent. No. Noise. At. All.

I. Like. To. Write. Like. This.

Seriously, the most silent pump I ever owned, it's magical. I replaced the fans with a be quiet! Silent Wings 2, for more silence.

Motherboard

Cute little motherboard. Nothing incredible, it has Wifi, Bluetooth, red accents, and... that's it. No LED (it wasn't the RGB movement when it came out), nothing incredibly fancy, but it does the job.

Memory

16Go is enough far what I do (and if you tell me, "Don't you have 64Go on your gaming build ? And on your workstation you only have 16 ?", I woulnd't be able to answer anything else than "I know")

Corsair makes great RAM, with a great look. And again, theses modules came out before the RGB era, so no LED here.

Storage

I only have Windows on it. Not the fastest, but it boots in less than 6.58 seconds, which is acceptable.

Storage

Just enough space, good speed, that's a decent SSD you have here !

Video Card

It perfectly works ! It displays something on my screen, and that's it ! Since I don't game on this machine, it's a bit useless (I don't even do rendering), but who can say that s/he watches YouTube through a GTX 1070 only used for that ? Well, I can.

Case

The cutest case from the best manufacturer ever ! Sadly it doesn't have tempered glass and it's plastic, but it looks so small and cute that I have to control myself not hugging it every two seconds.

Power Supply

Just a PSU. Modular. No noise. And that's all.

+1 (or +3 if I could) for the case I'll soon be using (yay!), the charming description, and the fantastic photos. Not to mention, a great build overall.
