Part Reviews

CPU

worth the wait! was using pentium g4400 then is saved enough for this baby!

CPU Cooler

i loooove thiis cooooleer

Motherboard

great board in a great price.

Memory

no cpu cooler/ram interference ! awesome in aesthetics

Storage

was within the budget so i bought one for my school files/programs

Video Card

perfectly does what i want and what i need

Case

almost awesome case to work with. but it has its ups and downs like for one the pull out rad bracket is too stiff and is hard to pull out to install some fans or a rad.

Power Supply

besides the soft coil whine it's all good for a budget powersupply

You are gonna upgrade to a 1060/1070 before the Cpu, No bottlenecks here xD

Crofter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

Bottlenecks aside as you don't specify which games you play. A i3 6100 might be a nice budget upgrade before you venture down the path of a new gpu, in case your future games need 2+ cores.

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

sorry xD i'll update the description after i uploaded my other builds xD

zjgomez 3 points 28 months ago

That huge cooler looks funny sitting on a Pentium.

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 3 points 28 months ago

true xD but it was on sale so i bought the r1 as soon as i saved enough of my allowance XD on the side note i'm waiting for them i5 kabylake to be released.

RedRageTNT 4 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

Love the cryorig universal . nice build

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

thanks! :D

PCPerson2016 2 points 28 months ago

That R1 is a little bit overkill... +1

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 3 points 28 months ago

true , but i'm waiting for the kabylake i5 7500 xD that's why i settled in for a pentium for now xD

PCPerson2016 2 points 28 months ago

Oh xD

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

will update the rig next week! kaby i5 and new gpu incoming ! :D

Evil_Paroxysm 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

I don't think you have enough pictures of the CPU cooler :P. By picture 15 I was secretly hoping it would continue for the rest of the pictures lol.

Nice small, clean build.

BeerzGod 2 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

Damnit, I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it!

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

@Evil_Paroxysm I looove the R1 xD <3 i'll reupload most of the pictures as soon as i get my old harddrive back xD

mohenjo21 2 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

That's pretty good, You left yourself a lot of upgrade room. Normally i would recommend a quad core but if this route might be better! +1

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

i got the pentium because i ain't got zero left in my savings to buy a skylake i5 . so i just thought that kabylake is just around the corner so why not futureproof this thing xD

FACUNDO 13 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

OMG, looks so minimalist and perfect. :O

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

thanks! stay tuned for the upgrades! :D XD

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

I really like this build for it's simple and clean appearance. Great choice of parts and you have left yourself with plenty upgrade paths in the future. Well done! You have my one.

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

thanks @Eltech! i'll be uploading more of my builds :D

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

You're welcome Lyoko. Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your builds. :)

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

uploaded @Eltech! check out ROGRAM & MidKnight :D

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

Thanks for letting me know. I checked them both out. They look great. :)

jj0322 1 point 28 months ago

"How big is the R1?"

The size of a Mini-ITX mobo.

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

almost the size of a m-ITX mobo xD it did not cover the rams XD

Flamearky 1 point 28 months ago

I would wanna upgrade to an i5 6400 before you even get the chance to go near a 1060 or 1070.. Like a G4400 is not a good choice for gaming, +1 though. ;~;

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

it's not for heavy gaming now. it's only good for League of legends and light video editing. i am waiting for kabylake to be released and i'll surely buy an i5 kaby. thanks for the inputs! you should check out our other builds.

ax15er 1 point 28 months ago

Nice build man! but I just dont like how people dont look at builds that dont have lights on them or like, how big the price is.

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

i'll upload new pictures when i get the chance to use a better smartphone. considering i did not have enough money left to buy even a cheap lead strip like the Deepcool rgb 360 . sad

zvixual 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

It's just the image quality that bugs me ;w;

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

i'll upload new pictures when i get the chance to use a better smartphone

RichKettle 1 point 28 months ago

ganda build ah ! :D

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

salamat man! :D

Vustrik 1 point 27 months ago

I'm sure this is quite literally the coolest/quietest build EVAR. Approved.

IamCranky 1 point 27 months ago

Were you able to plug in the USB 3.0 cable into the motherboard with such a large cooler or was there enough clearance?

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

i disregarded plugging in the usb 3.0 since it's located strangely and inappropriately

aim54x 7 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Nice build! can't wait to see the upgrade. I did want to ask about your LED lighting, which kit are you using and are you just sticking the LED strip to the radiator tray of your Evolv ITX?

The Cryorig R1 looks to be a better fit than my Noctua NH-D14 in this case.

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

thanks ! i'll update the build post after a rig show event this feb 18. i used the nzxt hue+ but i removed them after some regrets bout where to place the hue+ controller . i'll try the cablemod led strips or the deepcool rgb 360 soon if the budget permits me

aim54x 7 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

I am looking at the DeepCool RGB 360 for my build. But am not sure where to put the controller as I have both 3.5" slots populated at the moment. The back of my case is rather messy with cables which I will try to address by getting some CableMod 30cm SATA cables but the PSU is a very tight squeeze (older HX850 which as fixed 24-pin, 4+4-pin, 2x 6+2 PCI-E)

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

i'll update the post after the event in ilocos cyber expo this feb 18! :D

Mpgrim 1 point 26 months ago

I think you should have gotten the 7600k and a z1/270 board with that cooler

PootieThang 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

Can an exhaust fan fit or is the R1 Universal too big? I will be having a similar build. Parts come in next week and I already own the R1 Universal

Toopaman -2 points 28 months ago

Instead of buying the mini itx wifi board you should have gone with a regular board and a separate wifi card it is cheaper and if you want to you can upgrade to faster internet card in the future you can. And you could have gone a single stick of ddr4 ram instead of two it is cheaper and won't mess with your frames but good choice on the pentuim g4400 it is cheap you can upgrade it and you didn't use an amd chip

zjgomez 2 points 28 months ago

Wat...

Crofter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

You mention of not going AMD will cause a stir, for which reason I question your judgement

Lyoko649 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

true . i regret buying 2 sticks instead of a single 8gb stick. but hey it's already bought xD it'll have to suffice until i save enough to buy new rams XD
