Description

Finally got around to using my NCASE M1 V1 (ordered back in Sept 2013). My old PC finally died (built in 2012, 1090T Phenom II + GTX 670), which prompted a quick trip to Microcenter.

The cables are custom made by myself. Not a fan of sleeving, and instead went with all black 22 AWG wire. This makes the wire more low profile and easier to fit into smaller spaces. Took me 2-3 hours to measure, cut, and crimp the cables.

Still need to order 1-2 more fans and play around with the CPU heat sink. Other than that, the build is complete.

For those that are curious, the other items on my desk (left to right):

  • Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm mounted on Omega Headphone Stand
  • Black Xbox One Controller
  • Black Hydro Flask
  • Blue Snowball Mic
  • HHKB Pro 2
  • Amazon Basics Mouse (next thing to upgrade)
  • Macbook Air 11 inch
  • Persol PO0649
  • Hitbox V1

When you CPU cooler takes up 90% of your motherboard area.

Nice build.

im not jealous you are :(, btw looking at the dt 770, anything to note for someone who is a small audiophile? should i get an amplifier and if so what kind?

And include a price for the amp. I'm curious as well.

Here's a couple of amps I recommend:

The 2 on this list I really like are the Objective2+ODAC Rev B and CHORD Electronics Mojo.

Headphone + Amp/DAC is entirely subjective though. I really love my DT770 Pro's, but my friend swears by the Mad Dog Headphones. I recommend to DYOR (head-fi) is a good place to start.

Also if you get the DT770 Pro 80 ohm, you don't necessarily need an amp. Although it does sound a bit better with one.

This is crazy because I was thinking of doing a build basically EXACTLY like this in a month when it's my birthday, kinda epic to see it in action so soon! +1 man good work.
