Description

This was a build I threw together for my cousin, who has spent all of his life as a playstation user. He was complaining to me that games weren't running well, so I fixed his issue.

As for the build itself, nothing went wrong, I hit 4 ghz, and I still despise the AB350 pro4 bios, but I keep coming back due to its price.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

I would take this over a hyper 212 led any day of the week. It looks really nice, keeps very quiet, and cools the r7 very nicely.

Video Card

I chose this card for this build because it was the cheapest 2070 available, and I have mixed opinions. It didn't overclock well, but nobody expected that anyways. That being said, its cooler is remarkably quiet for a true 2 slot card, given that it is effectively twin frozr VI.

Also, no RGB. Not that I am complaining.

I like the black and white theme.

I LOVE B&W builds and built my first one in Nov.

Awesome GPU and matching display. I'm guessing some games play that fast on 2K high settings. If just for gaming I would have gone for a faster 4 core CPU instead.

Pro4's are solid boards for the price. I've used a handful.

Is the 1700x still good?

Nice build! I was wondering how well your GPU works, and if you would recommend it. I was considering getting that same one for my mini ITX build, and I was wonder how good it is without overclocking

I don’t know how familiar with pc parts you are but it reminds me a lot of an old twin frozr V cooler. It is quiet enough that it was inaudible over the case fans, and it overclocked pretty nicely (150mhz core?). Of course as msi comes out with more high end/custom pcb 2070 cards, these lower end models will likely end up overclocking worse, as the silicon lottery winners will become said high end cards.

Overall I would recommend. As for a mini itx system, it depends on the case. It should fit in anything as it is a true 2 slot card, but airflow is an issue. If this is going into a case like the fractal design node 202 or bitfenix portal where the hot air exhausted into the case doesn’t have a good way to escape, I would actually recommend a blower style card, but if it is going into a traditional tower like an nzxt h200i or even something like a silverstone sg-13 with great airflow then I would totally recommend this card.

Thank you so much, i have an NZXT H200i so the card should be good for me, thanks again!
