Description

Here's the details on my main rig today.

As a huge fan of norse mythology and the norse gods, and specially Thor, I based my build off Thor's hammer, Mjölnir. This build took a while to build as it spanded over months due to financial issues. Today I can pretty much say that I'm super happy with how it ended, and looking forward to the future upgrades whenever they come along.

The build is nice but it kinda overshadows the main star here. The groot doll

I see the Yellow theme, and I love the photos. +1 for sure. 1 more thing doe. You could have gotten Yellow RAM. Why didn't you?

  • 2 points

95% of the PC is 1,5-2 years old. I bought the RAM for the performance and price. I wanted black RAM bricks so that's what I went with :) Now I wanted to upgrade to 16GB, but they're not on the market anymore.. so I'm looking into some new RAM bricks.

i recomend the Black Corsair Vengance LPX

  • 1 point

Is it that good? My bricks are pretty beast.. too bad they're not in production anymore.

Nice Laptop :)

Best laptop I've owned. And amazing specs for the price! My Macbook Pro has been collecting dust for two months now haha

  • 1 point

I had a Lenovo y400 with SLI GT 650's before the newer y40's and 50's came out. The Lenovo Y series computers have some really good specs for the money. The only reason I switched is because I found a couple month old Razer Blade online for $900 and had to try it out.

  • 1 point

Not bad. I'd buy the Blade in a heartbeat, even if it would be an expensive one. Only issue is the Blade doesn't exist and is not resold in Norway, and yeah.. need the norwegian keyboard :(

Ouch that stinks, I didn't even consider that. But at least you have a wicked sweet desktop to drown your sorrows ;)

Amazing build!

Just wondering, where did you get those cards?

+1

  • 1 point

They were bought when they were still on the market like 1,2-2 years ago. Was easy the first one.. second one was HARD to find.

  • 2 points

I like it all but the single monitor. I mean why have two GTX 780 and only rock one monitor at 1080? Heck I can't go less then two monitors myself. You could have gone bigger or multi...

  • 1 point

I bought the screen as a first, was planing on getting two more.. but then I fell in love with Dell's new U2515H (1440p) screen and ASUS's ROG Swift.. so I'm not sure what to do. I have never had more than one screen, and I'm perfectly fine with it. I do want a 1440p one though.

Really like this build! :) Although that SLI bridge being like that kind of bothers me.. I am really digging the black and yellow though :)

Yeah, followed the card. Can't really be bothered to change :P

Likin' the colour scheme.

Epic build man :D With these components i'm sure you'll be able to smash any game with great performance! I almost see this as an inspiration to build a new PC, so cheers!

Takes everything I play on maximum settings in 1080p. When I had my 4K screen, some games went super great there as well!

may i ask why you went with an older cpu? you could've gone with a 4690k or 4790k and gtx 970/gtx 980? just asking btw... not hating before anyone assumes i am :)

  • 1 point

This build is almost 1,5 years old. None of what you listed existed then :) I'm looking at the Gold Edition to MSI's 970 that they have on their website. If they get released in any local web stores, I wont hesitate a second to get one.. or two.

Color scheme is very appropriately Asgardian. Well done!

  • 1 point

Haven't done any OC, and I'm not complainig! But the coolers keep them so damn cool I could do some OC no problem.

  • 2 points

Yeah, but can you lift it? Are you worthy ? :-)

Guess I am! It's one damn heavy PC I **** you not.. and everytime I move it.. I have to go down steep stairs :S

Beautiful Lighting and Color combos case too

Would have been better with yellow led lights or none at all, the blue doesn't really go that well. Still an awesome build though +1

  • 1 point

The blue LEDs are gone, gave them to my cousin. Thinking of getting yellow LED fans in the front, but can't seem to find any yet.

  • 2 points

I also have a yellow themed pc and i too could not find any yellow fans so i got the nzxt hue, maybe you should check that out.

  • 2 points

I had no clue that MSI made a 780 with Yellow accents. +1 for showing me something new :)

  • 1 point

They did indeed, but were hard to get my hands on them!

Love this build! You better do some serious OC'ing or you aren't doing those parts justice :P

Next build for you to do: Build in one of Silverstone's Raven series cases, inspired by Odin. I imagine many terabytes of storage to signify his large amount of wisdom. Some very reliable hardware (near server grade) to represent his never missing spear... I should stop now.

Seriously though, beautiful build and your part choices are great.

  • 1 point

Thank you very much! I honestly haven't done any OC at all.. I don't really know how haha. My cousin lives like 10 min from me, he's a OC guru so I can simply ask him!

Is the a Kiln next to your rig? if someone happens to use that at all, I would move it.

  • 1 point

Not sure I follow?

  • 1 point

the thing to the right of your rig, in the 4th picture, I thought it was a kiln. Looking at it again I'm thinking it's a fridge for drinks or something, based on the "03" on the digital display.

My bad.

  • 1 point

Oh yeah, that's a tiny fridge to keep the drinks cool :)

If you wouldn't mind, can you explain how you did the custom paint work?

Edit: Great job btw!! Looks sweet!

  • 1 point

The only custom paintwork done is the rings on the SP and AF fans from Corsair!

Awesome build man, I gotta ask though, what brand of desk is that? I'm trying to look for one very similar.

Thanks! It's called Bekant, and if you have an IKEA not far from you, that's where you find it :)

Outstanding build sir. Love that case. Were your video cards and SSD part of a previous build?

  • 1 point

SSD and one card was from previous build. The H440 couldn't fit two 780 Lightnings :P Barely fit one actually..
