Description

Hello PCPP, I come from console gaming and have been wanting to build a PC and start gaming/streaming on twitch and Also to make YouTube content. It's like night and day between console and PC gaming, I was getting 60hz on xbox while 240hz on PC is simply amazing. Thanks to YouTube videos and the builds on here I was able to get an idea to help me put together a sweet build. I studied for awhile before I started buying parts, I knew that I wanted Asus products and wanted rgb but also wanted it to be a clean looking build. Below I'm gonna give you guys some information why I chose the parts I did, enjoy!

Case: Coolermaster h500p - There are alot of nice cases out there this is one of the toughest decisions but I chose this case because of the airflow, cablemangement can be hidden at ease, and it has a stock vertical GPU mount which I knew that I wanted to use. This case with some nice rgb lights your desk up, a 10 out of 10 I'm my opinion.

Motherboard: Asus maximus xi hero - Choosing the motherboard was fairly easy because Asus makes the top of the line products and there very sexy. I knew I wanted the new lineup of motherboards It was between the xi hero and the xi formula. I would've gotten the formula if I didnt do a vertical GPU build because you wouldn't have gotten to see the motherboard really. If your trying to decide on a motherboard go with a Asus product!

CPU: i7 9700k - I knew I wanted Intel , I was leading towards the 8700k and the 9th gen. It was hard finding the new gen cups in stock but if you can get your hands on one I would do so. Not much an upgrade between the 9700k and 8700k I just like keeping things up to date. An easy method to catch these when they come in stock is to hit the auto notify button on newegg so you can add to cart quickly when there available.

GPU: Asus strix 1070 ti- I use PC strictly for streaming and gaming so I wanted something that could handle something at epic settings. I was gonna get the Asus strix 2080 but I haven't had any trouble with the 1070 ti.

Monitor: Asus pg258q -This is one of the most important pieces of building a PC when used for gaming. I wanted something that could do the impossible and this does just that. It's very stunning with the rgb lights and the refresh rate of 240hz makes it even better. I have one for gaming and I use the second monitor for twitch chat/streamlabs/music.

Fans: Enermax T.b. Rog- I wanted something rgb but wanted it to be clean and a light show. It had to be Asus aura syncable also which they sync with my PC and my Phillip's hue lights in my gaming room. It's really cool when it's all synced together. I had trouble fitting the fans top/front panels, it came with two 200m fans and It will fit 3 140m fans perfectly so it was a task getting 3 120m fans to line up . I had to add an extra bracket to get the fans in there without spacing, the end result was stunning though.

I hope you guys enjoyed the build, and if it weren't for you guys this wouldn't have been possible. I think its great what these guys create on here. Let's see if we can get this build a feature, it would make my day. Thanks and have a great day!

If you don't mind me asking why didn't you go with a higher end gpu, it's seems like your budget can handle it.

I use it to stream fortnite and It gets me 1440p at epic settings. I plan on getting a Asus strix 2080 soon though.

That's sort of what I wonna do, how is that Ryuo 240m doing cooling wise, what temps are you seeing at what RPM's. I just had my doubts that 240m can cool it properly and do you have it OC'd ? Cheers

Excuse me while I clean up this drool. I found my way here because I have almost the same hardware picked out for a new build for myself. Good choices! Also, I'm totally in love with the refinished desk. WOW

How do you like those fans? I'm looking to do an RGB build but can't have any LED strips, so I want fans that will illuminate the case in addition to my RAM.

  • 1 point

I love them, quiet and the rgb is not to much. Its clean and syncs with Asus aura. It also comes with a controller so you can control it by hand to. Would def pick them up.

Looks awesome. I have heard the fans have a major design flaw where the squeak and grind after a couple month's use, so keep that receipt handy and swap them out until they all work. Other than that looks amazing!

For such high end parts and peripherals, the 1070 ti seems a bit lacking. No 1080 ti?

  • 1 point

Not really, for what I use it for its perfect. Twitch streaming and fortnite doesnt require that much power. I'm easily getting 240fps on epic settings

How do u deal with the liquid cooler does the fans on top blow air out of the case. If so wouldn't have a negative airflow Just a question I'm new to this.

Nice! I used the same case for my first build too. So clean and easy! I'm currently looking at parts for another epic build and noticed the relatively new AIO's from ROG..not too much review info out there yet so wandered over here to see how you're handling it. So far, I'm sold on going Asus! :)

It's really nice, you can change the oled background or show CPU tsmps. It's pretty neat. It syncs with the Asus aura items also

Hi! This build es amazind! Is beautiful seriously. I have a question, how you gave the support to the fan above that was left out of the liquid cooler? Because I have a same case and mi liquid cooler have 2 fans only so I have a extra fan but is not the same height

  • 1 point

Nice eyes man , I had a single liquid cooler I used to put beside my 240 just to give it same height for the fans. It wouldn't have looked right with offset heights so it served its purpose well.

GREAT JOB! I love Asus and the AIO in combination with every other part in your build is just on point. Also the lightning is perfect. No crappy rainbow rgb, love that!

Well done mate.
