Description
I use this for gaming. The power supply was pulled out of my old computer, and the two ssds are in raid 0. My old build was running an amd 1055t, and I liked it, so I went with amd again. The fx-8320e runs cool and I overclock it to 4.4ghz during games. This case doesn't do a very good job at blocking out noise, but it still runs fairly quiet under load. Any tips on improving my build are welcome!
UPDATE: I found a good refurbished Corsair PSU on sale. The black cables made it tempting, so I bought one and replaced the old Lepa unit. I also raised my monitor a couple inches with a small shelf I built. This helps bring my speakers to ear level and allows me to properly sit up straight. The two OCZ solid state drives have been spray painted matte black to be more subtle. They blend in perfectly with my setup.
The new speakers are Micca PB42x. The line out from my motherboard is split in two so that I can also use my Velodyne DPS-12. The subwoofer is far too big to fit anywhere near my desk, so I have it in the corner of my room. (subwoofer position doesn't really matter anyways)
Part Reviews
CPU Cooler
The corsair link software is too glitchy and required registry edit to display the fans. However, it does a great job keeping the cpu cool.
Video Card
fans don't spin unless heavy load, however, high res gaming really takes a hit on performance.
Power Supply
The fan is louder than I would like, but it has run solid for years now.
