Description

So visually not much has changed from my last completed build, but over the last few months there have been some pretty serious upgrades. In late August my motherboard died on me so I went ahead and replaced the MSI Z170a SLI Plus with an EVGA Classified K and love it, the power delivery is so good that I got the same OC I had before with MUCH less voltage. I was using Cougar Fans on the front radiator but I wasn't impressed with their noise/performance ratio so I switched them out for some Corsair ML 120's and I'll never look back. The biggest (and most important) upgrade is to the GPU, I won a Titan X Pascal in a giveaway and instantly had to get a water-block on it, my 980TI was still meeting my needs but the Titan blows 1440p 144fps out of the water. I took some new pictures so enjoy and tell me what you think!

The amount of cats in build logs are rising dramatically...

Is this going to be the new craze like rgb??

  • 5 points

That depends on how quickly they can get RGB cats onto the market

haha notice, I never win anything in giveaways. If you get bored you should see if you can put the TITAN's heat sink of the 980ti, sell it on eBay or something. +1

How long did it take to build and set up your pc; I have been thinking about doing a water cooling build. Also is it too annoying to maintain the build?

  • 1 point

Planning, research, and learning was spread out over a few weeks so it wasn't that bad. The actual build took the better part of a day when I first did it. I've since drained, added parts to the loop, and had to replace a dead motherboard and I wouldn't say it was too annoying at all. The maintenance so far has been pretty easy, but the loop in it's current form has only existed for 6 months. I'd say give it a shot if you're interested, it's a pretty satisfying project.

OK, I think I will. I was worried it would take more than a day to do it right. How did you test the board before getting everything tubes and reservoir setup in the case?

Truthfully, I just took a leap of faith with the new motherboard. Sure it would've been a pain in the *** if it didn't work, but I was confident in EVGA's Q.A.

I really like what you've done here! I don't see too many H440's with custom loops. I really should get around to giving mine the proper go.

  • 1 point

Thanks! I can honestly say a custom loop in an H440 is a pain in the ***, but I think in the end it was worth it. Granted I am looking to switch into another case soon, I just can't decide on one quite yet.

Looking to do my first build with this case. Just wondering why you decided to replace the 3 stock fans?

  • 1 point

I wanted to use fans better suited for use on radiators. If you're air cooling the stock ones should be fine.

With that kinda money i would have gone for a better mouse, but geez nice build

Truthfully I love this mouse, I thought about getting a better one but I can't think of any aspect that doesn't perform well with it
