Description

Decided to build my dream pc.

Custom painted my SLI bridge to black, was tempted to do so to my motherboard as well, but it won't make a difference once it's actually on my desk and in use. The case is fairly dark with just the white lighting accents to add so life to it. But otherwise, the motherboard isn't noticeable at all.

Everything here was perfect for me. The case was a breeze to work in and would highly recommend it. Have 0 complaints.

Custom cables will be fixed up to look cleaner, fixing up cable management next week anyways so just threw them on there in the mean time.

errrrmmmm isnt it bad to have a gtx 1080ti and use it for 1080p? i heard it gets bottlenecked and doesnt perform as well as 1440p or 4k. Also isnt it a waste of hardware to use it on 1080p?

I DSR my games to 4k. And I'm upgrading to the PG27UQ when it gets released in a few months.

My friend you got the cash, it your business. You have a reason for certain things, it because you need it for a purpose. So I have no problem. I am in process of learning to build and I was a top of the line.

  1. Why two storage amounting to 7 TB?
  2. Do the dual video cards increase response like 10% faster to commands? How much does it increase response?
  3. Why use 16 GB, would it be better as time goes that 32 GB would be better for say gaming?
  4. Two 24in monitors? With that kind of power how about a 34in monitor and a 24 in side monitor? I would think that your build could bottleneck at less than best in resolution/PIXIL??

OK thanks for reading...these were questions I had as I think about my build.
Thanks

  1. The 4TB is a backup drive for my 500gb M.2 and 3TB HD
  2. They increase gaming performance by a lot more than just 10%. There's plenty of benchmarks out there that compare 1 1080ti to 2 of them.
  3. I use 32GB so not too sure what you mean by only using 16GB. Even then, 16GB is more than plenty for the next few years.
  4. Bigger monitors don't require more power. Higher resolutions do. And I'm upgrading my gaming monitor to the PG27UQ when it gets released in a few months, and my secondary monitor to a 4k monitor as well.

I think 2 1080ti's in SLI was unnecessary but it's your dream build so why the heck not I guess. That thing will max out any 4k game, good job.

I plan on not upgrading for years so figured it would be best to go all the way.

Perfection! Other then the fact that your rad fans are facing different directions for some reason. I'm pretty sure by the looks of those fans they are heavily optimized for a push setup.

I messed with the configuration a few times when I first started building it and it worked better this way the way my desk is designed.

Amazing. I'm surprised you didn't go with 1440p 144hz monitors, this computer could push that resolution and frame rate with ease.

Very nice build. I feel the same way about future-proofing. I plan to over-build a system so I do not have to update parts every year or two. When I start streaming and content creation, having an over-built system means less cost to get started.

How well does the CLC perform? I currently have a stock 7700K that I'd like to overclock to 5.0 GHZ and I've never really found a cooler that's actually good until I heard about the CLC.

Works great for me.

Stable at 5GHz and never see temps over 72 (and I live in Arizona so temps are a bit higher for me).

I might do a custom loop in the future. I'll have this build for 5+ years so it leaves room for the potential cutom loop.
