ULTRA UltraViolet HTPC/Gaming Custom Water-Cooled UV PC Build

Hi this build has been through 4 different looks. I got bored and really like ultraviolet/fluorescent lighting after I built my Zombie Hunter 2 build so I wanted to make my UltraViolet HTPC/Gaming Custom Water-Cooled UV Build with more ultraviolet/fluorescent colors.

First off... This is my movie room computer build that I use a 1080p 60hz Optoma projector with a 135" projector screen. We mainly watch shows and movies and do the occasional gaming on it

Originally built 2/16, rebuilt on 8/17, water-cooled on 2/18, updated on 5/18, then reupdated 9/18 to the 'Ultra Ultraviolet Build'

What has been changed:

1.I went from a 780 ti to a 1060 GTX, and I know it was close to a lateral move but I was having driver issues on newer games crashing on me. The 780 ti was a great card for what I was using this for it's just starting to lack driver support and some stability issues. (Why did I block a 1060?? This build was already setup with full loop and I wasn't planning on changing that or spending too much money on a gpu that will only see 1080p @ 60Hz. I have my Zombie Hunter 2 build with a 1080 ti for that!! )

2.I delided the 6700k because even with water it wasn't running as cool as I expected and I figured while I'm doing the gpu swap I might as well do a delid. Also was interested in the copper IHS so it was only $20 so I figured.....why not! I figure I'll be keeping this cpu for a long time so I might as well get the best out of it. I oc'd to 4.7ghz but haven't tried anymore and probably comfortable with this oc

3.I also ditched the RGB lights for UltraViolet!!! I added XSPC uv green coolant with more ultraviolet/fluorescent colors!

Thank you for looking!!!

Thx

Just wondering...are you ever planning to upgrade your GPU to something like a 1080 ti? If you can afford a custom waterloop system, then you can, most likely, afford a 1080 ti.

I had a 1080 evga hydro in there before. It was overkill and sold it for like $900 when the market was hot. As soon as I upgrade my 1080p projector to a 4k I'll bump it up. But for the use the 1060 is perfect for me.. Plus I have a 1080ti in my other pc... Zombie Hunter build

Oh cool, that makes sense.

Hey, sense you have been making custom PCs for a while now, could you take a look at the one that I'm making in a few months?

Thanks.

Looks like a good setup. You could ditch half of the ram to save pending on your use

Doesn't UV damage the connectors over time? Something about the wavelength of UV light.

I'm totally not smart enough for that question. I'm only using one 20 cm uv bar. Doubt it would cause any future harm but I'm no scientist ;)

Such a nice rig! But why the 1060????

Valid question. I have a lot in the description why but here we go...

I have a 1080 ti in my Zombie Hunter build I play 4k in. This build I use in my theater room with a 1080p 3D projector.

I was using a blocked 780ti but because of lack of driver support I switch to 1060 cause it rocks 1080p and this doesn't get gamed on very much, lots and lots of movies and shows!!

I plan on upgrading to a 4k projector in the future so when I do that I'll upgrade to a bigger gpu

Thanks for looking!!

This looks amazing, how did you set up water cooling? I'm looking to do something similar myself.

Thank you. Well if you peek at my builds I have a project xeon build that was my first attempt. I broke it down and used the watercooling parts for this one. Doing a lot of research and YouTube videos helped. Good name brands and reviews are a must and try to stay clear of those fancy coolant. I've been using xspc and it's been good to me... Thank you for looking!!
