I have been waiting for a decent AMD comeback for a long time. So far I have been nothing but impressed with this current build. Obviously with any new platform there will be growing pains. for example this is the 2nd X370 board I have tried. The first board had posting and performance problems due to bios issues.
The biggest issue currently is getting memory to run at 3200. With the kit listed I was able to just click XMP and bam it worked at 3200 CL 14-14-14-34 . While it worked , I noticed that performance was lacking compared to similar builds. I ended up disabling XMP and using the same settings manually with ddr voltage at 1.37 the system performed a lot better.
CPU wise I have it currently overclocked to 3.85 Ghz with voltage at 1.28 with temps sitting at around 42c while gaming, and the GPU sits around 38c.
Overall I am very happy with the current state of my build.
(update: I have changed the motherboard and cpu out to a R7 1800x and a Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K7. So far so good. currently at 3.9 @ 1.34v and still testing. Bios is beta F3e)
Current firestrike score, not to shabby I think. Firestrike
