Description

This computer was an absolue dream to get the parts for and build. The parts list without the discounts/used parts I was able to get is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Muffinz4k/saved/VZLPnQ

I built this computer to use for gaming, 3d animation, and schoolwork. It works like an absolute dream so far, I couldn’t’ve asked for better.

I created this gpu backplate in art class! It’s scratchboard, and I’m very proud!

CPU: a nice and speedy unlocked cpu for intel enthusiasts on a budget. Not good for lots of heavy work though (only 4 cores for $170) so if you want value go with AMD. Got it for free (neighbor works at intel)

GPU Got it on ebay for $79 (+$10 shipping) runs rainbow 6 at max setting (1920x1080) perfectly, and runs fortnite at max settings at +150 fps (not that I play, of course)

Memory Got 8gb of crucial DDR4-2666 on amazon for $40, then the other 8 gb was a dell DDR4-2400 upgrade kit (what is in the list is the closest thing i could find to it). I recieved the upgrade kit with my gpu as an apology after the ebay seller forgot to ship the gpu for a week.

Storage The team ssd is great for the price, but the write speeds are almost equivalent to an hdd. The hdd I got at free geek for $30. Definitely audible, but the write noise or the spinning isn’t audible enough to piss me off.

PSU Got it from evga for $25 during midweek madness (every week on Wednesday). The cables are nice and long - no extensions needed for a mid tower case.

Case This case is AMAZING for $50. However, the glass (actually acrylic plastic) is very VERY easily scratched, so be careful! Also, no psu shroud, but you can tuck unused non-modular cables in the bottom hdd tray. Cable routing wasn’t as difficult as some reviews said. Standoffs are a bit of a pain to put in, and the front panel cables are kinda short (usable on full atx mobo though). All in all a great looking case and amazing value.

Motherboard: Great motherboard! Got it refurbished from newegg for $70. It came with everything except for an m.2 standoff. Bios is very logical. Sadly the motherboard ports (sata, ethernet) are slightly wobbly. Also no wifi. Otherwise, great board.

Cooler My old cooler couldn't handle basic overclocking, so I upgraded to a $40 corsair hydro h60 that I got on ebay. it's fantastic! it came with an extra fan (ebay seller deal).

Monitor Got it at Goodwill for $20. Best $20 I've ever spent!

Thanks. My favorite part is bragging to my console peasant friends that I built a pc for less than their ps4
