Description

Recently I started a new job with Enterprise Fleet Management and will be working from home for three weeks each month. I already had a PC built for my iRacing triple screen setup but that definitely would not be great for working in.

This build started out as something that would be fun to assemble while I could upgrade down the road whenever I found deals here and there on parts. Originally I picked up an open box 2200g from my local Micro Center for $63.00 and bundled that with an A320M board to get $30 off in store. Walking out, I was very happy to have my base <$90.00 and no need for a GPU! I later returned the A320M for the B450M Pro4 as I found out the A320 was not compatible with Ryzen APU integrated graphics.

Birthday came (29yrs) and my wife asked what I wanted and the MasterBox NR400 came to mind. Its my first tempered glass case and I'm very please with the quality for the price. I was deciding between the mini meshify c and this an d I actually prefer the shorter glass instead of the full length glass. Things I enjoy the most about this case is the air flow, cable management, captive thumb screws on the side panels and ease of side panel removal and installation. My biggest dislike has to be the optical drive version is the only one available in the US.

A couple weeks later a friend of mine mentioned he had a old MSI R9 380 4gb he wasn't using anymore and sold it to me for $40, cant beat that! So after seeing that the R5 1600 had dropped to $80 at Micro Center I decided to return the 2200g and step up to the 1600 since integrated graphics was no longer needed.

I scored the RAM second hand on FB Marketplace for $20 and after that I got the rest of the parts on Amazon to finish up the build.

I'm super happy with how this turned out and it was a lot of fun building and acquiring parts for, it does exactly what I need and more!

EDIT: 7/29/19 just added the Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB Ram Kit 16gb ddr4-3000. Picked it up from NewEgg sale for $69.99

EDIT: 8/29/19 have now gone full RGB. Picked up a new MSI Gaming X GTX 1660, great looking card for the money and performance. Ultra graphics at 1080p is nothing now.

IM thinking of building inside the NR400 is it friendly?

Very much so. Removing the optical drive cage is helpful and it’s a good price point for what you get.

Hey, can you control the RGB of the RAM? I'm looking forward to buy this exact same kit, but idk if I can control them without a motherboard that has some kind of software to do it. Nice build!

Yes, the Corsair stuff runs off iCue software and you can control the light affects thru that
