Description

My first PC build. (Will add additional pictures soon!)

Ryzen 5 2600 Good Price. Great performance. No issues so far with this CPU, very happy with my AMD choice!

NZXT Kraken M22 Absolutely stunning RGB. The infinity mirror sold me on the cooler. (I'm a sucker for aesthetics) Haven't reached over 60 while playing extended periods of time yet.

Asus ROG Strix B450-I Insanely small and packed with more features than most ATX motherboards! The wifi and bluetooth are beyond what I had hoped for. Consistently getting 30 or so ping. One thing to keep in mind is that it only has one internal USB 2.0, had to buy a splitter.

G.Skill Trident Z Works well with asus aura sync which is a mega plus. and works very fast with my AMD CPU.

Samsung 860 Evo Wish I had gone for the 1TB, but I can always add later. Point is I will definitely be getting a samsung SSD again. Fasted load times I've ever had. (First experience with SSD speeds though)

Sapphire Radeon RX580 8GB Would like to test it out with more demanding games. But from what I have tried (Mainly Rainbow Six: Siege) This thing handles it with fantastic ease at 1080p/144+ FPS.

Corsair Crystal 280X RGB The second I saw this case, I knew it was the only case I wanted to build in. Hands down the most beautiful PC case I've seen. Well done Corsair. The dual chamber makes it too easy to hide and display whatever you want. and the fans are so quiet I couldn't believe it!

EVGA SuperNOVA G3 Another super quiet component. Fits very nicely in my case with it's form factor all while pumping out all the power I need for my PC.

MSI Optix Must be the best quality to cost ratio in a 144hz curved monitor out there. 24" is the biggest monitor I've ever had so I'm enjoying the crap out of the super smooth refresh rate and beautiful curved display.

Logitech G Pro Keyboard Stunning colours and the best customization on a keyboard. A little over priced but the tenkeyless design and quality build really make this worth it.

Logitech G Pro Mouse Very comfy to hold. The accuracy of this mouse is something I wish I had long ago.

Kingston HyperX Cloud II I think everybody knows this is the best gaming headset around right now right? You forget you have it on!

I was thinking about getting that mobo if the MSI Carbon takes too long to get back in stock. Do you think it would work well in a NZXT 500 mid case?

Yeah looks like that case supports ITX so it should work just fine. It's a great mobo, I'd definitely recommend it. The RGB on the side is a great touch as well! (If you're into that kinda thing.)

Appreciate the response. Luckily the MSI went back on stock the same day I checked xD So I think I will be going with it.

Hey there! Your build is effing amazing! Are you using Corsair software to control the case fans while using Asus software to control the trident z and nzxt rgb? I have trident z rgb ram alongside corsair fans as well but I'm too scared to change the color on my RAM because I've heard some folk had RAM corruption from using two different RGB control programs :/. I'd appreciate any insight yoy might have on the issue! Anyways, nice job on your build! It's definitely something to be proud of!

Thank's a lot!
Yes, I am using ICUE software for the corsair fans and Asus' Aura Sync for the motherboard and RAM. On top of that I have to use Logitech G software for the keyboard and mouse, Sapphire Trixx software for the GPU and NZXT's CAM software for the CPU cooler! It's pretty ridiculous. I have heard of ICUE and Aura Sync not playing well together but so far I haven't had any problems as far as them clashing with each other. That could be due to me using ICUE exclusively for the fans, or it could be they fixed that problem already. I'm not to sure past that though sorry man. Thank's again for the kind words, and goodluck!

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately I don't have an Asus mobo so I'd have to use G.Skill's software to change the RAM colors and I think that's where most people were having issues. I think I'm gonna just go for it and if **** goes horribly wrong I'll just buy some corsair rgb ram and call it a day haha. Thanks again. Enjoy your godlike rig haha!

Nice build, man. How do you like the Asus ROG board after a couple months of use? Have you used their mobos before?

Thank you! The board has been good, but unfortunately I have run into a small problem after a bios update. Booting seems to take twice as long now...I'll have to figure out what I did wrong cause before that I had 0 issues!

Strange... I always hate to see BIOS updates coming once I have a system running smoothly. You never really know what's going to happen. Best of luck with it.

what made you decide on the radiator placement? do you an exhaust fan behind it?

  • 1 point

Hey! The rad is mounted to the case, fan is mounted under that. I decided on that spot for a couple reasons. Mainly air flow and fitment. For this thing to fit and not look ridiculously squished/twisted this was the best spot, and at the same time trying to keep air flow in mind. Just kinda where it ended up! That is the only fan I have at the top of my case right now.

so that's your only exhaust fan? with 2 intake fans I'm assuming?

going into my first build so I'm still learning a lot but it would seem like a good idea to put another exhaust fan along the top, would it not? I feel like the radiator kind of blocks the mated fan and is only really useful to cool down the radiator so you would want another exhaust fan to cool down any excess heat from inside the case?

could be wrong but if you have reason for your air flow I'm all in for some tips.

It would be a good idea for me to get another exhaust fan for sure! My temps are actually pretty good with this set up though. So for now I'm going to be lazy and leave it as it is haha
