Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU if coming from AMD side, but if bumping up from a 3770 from my previous computer, it isn't too much of an upgrade, as if most CPU's on Intels side every year.

Motherboard

The specs on the board are great for entry-level builds. It's on the lower end of SLI capabilities but all in all supposed to be fine. Now my personal experience with the board was horrid: boot looping, not detecting SATA drives intermittently, undervoltage shut down of system (even if that's a feature of intel chips).

Storage

The Corsair LS comes from a trusted name in the SSD business and when priced materially less than other current generation SSDs, makes a lot of sense for buyers who want more out of their existing hard-drive based machines.

Case

The best case I ever had, be sure to put at least an ATX board in there otherwise you are wasting all this huge space!

Power Supply

I'm very pleased with this product and would buy again good amount of power for a fair price and works well!

Optical Drive

Pretty self explanatory, it does what it's made to do. Comes nicely packaged in bubble wrap and also comes with a driver and some software.

Operating System

This is the second OEM I have installed and both went very well. OS seems very compliant with all hardware and no too difficult to work with unlike Windows 8. I would recommend a clean install of Windows 10 instead of an upgrade from previous versions.

Monitor

This monitor has a very good picture out of the box. The color are great. I don't play game, so i can not comment on that. I compare this monitor with the monitor Benq GW2760HS side by side playing an animation movie(Tinkerbell). The Asus MX279H has an ips panel and the Benq GW2760HS has an A-MVA panel. When i compare side by side, the ASUS was set to 'theater' mode and the BenQ was set to 'cinema' mode. The monitor Asus has darker color (more rich) and the Benq has more vivid color (brighter). Both monitor make a very good job with animation movies and i think they will be good choice for gaming. The price on the monitor Asus is too high here in Canada. In the USA the monitor is sold for 250$, here in Canada, it's more than 350$. I can not understand the price difference. The speakers are too weak and muffled. My laptop has better speakers.

Keyboard

The S.T.R.I.K.E. TE is the first mechanical gaming keyboard from Mad Catz, and it's a big improvement over the company's previous keyboards, but there are still a couple of features that fall flat.

Same here, though I haven't officially posted my build, I named mine "George Foreman" because I got a 4790k but used the stock cooler for like 2 weeks then got a CM TX3 and botched the installation and it barely ran any better then finally remounted it and later on, got myself a H110i GT

The design is pretty nice especially the border less bezels and 27' is pretty good for one. I looked at the 23' at a store and its not that bad either.
