Description

I lurked on pcpartpicker for a long time probably about 4 years now. I finally got some money and was able to get a build going. I am definitely open to questions and future suggestions. I plan to overclock my CPU in the future, but will probably get an AIO before then.

:)

Edit: I added an additional fan to the front of the case. Had to use zip ties as there is no third front fan mount. It is working well though and I think it is pretty secure! I have overclocked the CPU to 3.7 GHz at stock voltage as the temperature maxed at 75°c and I didn't want to risk it getting any hotter. I also bought a large steel series mousepad and the G403 mouse if anyone is interested in my peripherals.

Edit: I added two 500gb 850 evos for steam library. With the 805 bios update I have the ram at 3033, but any higher appears unstable causing blue screen.....

That may have been worded better as "I finally have some expendable income" haha...

Lol. But honestly that would be boring to say that. I wanted to spice it up a little. Sorry if it was a bit disrespectful though.

Haha, don't worry about it! I appreciate the humor!

Nice looking build! Only thing that was off is there's too much space in that case, I personally would suggest a smaller case for your build (perhaps a decent cube case with enough space for your GPU). Then again we do have different tastes +1 though

I was super close to making an micro build in the RAIJINTEK STYX as I do agree that all the space looks a little funny, but I wanted to leave room in case I decide I want to add sli, AIO, Etc.

Wow that case has a ton of room it looks like. nice build 2. +1

The Wraith Spire cooler that came with your CPU is actually pretty good for Overclocking from what I have heard. Apparently it has a high enough power delivery to handle the mild to moderate overclock. Bitwit did a video on the cooler on YouTube and I highly recommend that you check it out.

Agreed, You should easily be able to hit 3.8 GHz on all cores without even increasing your vcore, the Wraith will be more than able to handle that comfortably.

I will give it a shot! Thanks :)

Thought you may be interested, I have OCed it to 3.7 on the wraith with it peaking at 75°C

Nice man! that's a little higher than I was getting but still not bad. What's your vcore at?

I left it at stock which is the greatest part! The highest I have seen it go to is 1.357V. Once I have an AIO I think this chip will get to 4.0-4.1!

Nice, and just like that you have picked up your performance to better than the 1800x, considering they all use the same chip

Yay Ryzen! builds looks good mate. I know how it feels coming from a laptop. +1

As others have said, AMD's stock cooler is actually surprisingly good at handling an OC. But, I can understand the desire/appeal of an AIO.

After all the comments I am definitely going to OC on the stock cooler, as I do like the way it looks in the building, plus I am a sucker for rgb....

It's honestly really nice, I'm glad they doubled down on making stock coolers look sexy af.

Definitely, it made the value of the 1700 just that much better!

its still suprising that the ryzen chips are cheaper but still have such a nice stock cooler

If you are going on a cooler, I think if you want easier maintenance (according to what I heard) go to Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4. The current fan is already keeping your CPU cool though

Thanks! I am definitely loving the cooler, I think it may be making me an RGB guy... Haah
