[EDIT]- Updated interior photos (Cable mods & better cable management)
Sorry for the considerably bad photos, I can't be asked for any better XD (that requires too much effort)
I am making this post about a month or so after I have finished this build. One of the main difficulties was the dead motherboard that was shipped over to me. That tested my patience a lot because this was my first build and I was really wanting to get the thing up and running. So long story short, we found out there was a micro center about 30 mins away. Instead of using RMA we just bought a new one and sent the dead motherboard back. I retrieved my money back and within no time my build finally came to life (after spending too long trying to figure why the motherboard wasn't posting only to soon realize I didn't even plug the friggin CPU power in).
I love the build and it works for what I want just fine. The 1060 was a bit pricey (thanks miners for raising the prices), but it works like a charm. 1080p gaming at 60 fps is possible even in skyrim with texture mods consisting of 2k/4k textures. (Though I do sometimes drop to maybe 40 fps minimum). The price to performance ratio is quite amazing for the i5 8600k in my opinion. Definitely feels like I have an i7 in my computer, also considering the fact the damn thing has 6 logical cores.
After years of just drooling over Linus videos and computer part lists that I couldn't stop myself from making in absolute anticipation for an absolute beast gaming rig of my very own, here I am now after putting some hard time and work into earning the money for it. I hope this is an inspiration and/or help to people in a similar or same situation I was in, and I wish best of luck to all of you builders out there! Thanks for taking the time to read about my build. Happy building!
