Description

Building my son's rig last month gave me the bug to build me one.

It's white, has arctic camouflage and using a Sabertooth MB, hence the name. Decided to go with a white build and LEDs to change the theme if I got tired of it. lol

I made my choices based on color, performance and price. Trying to find a decent balance that enabled me to game, use editing/creation software and office applications, not to mention not having to upgrade it for awhile. So far it's been great for everything (not heavily) thrown at it.

Part Reviews

CPU

Flies right out of the box. Handles everything I've thrown at it. Will dabble in Overclocking it soon.

CPU Cooler

It's White, and not enormous like some of the CPU Coolers out there. Nice white LEDs. Long fan leads, I had to wrap and tuck them around the base to hide them. Keeps the CPU cool enough I don't worry about it.

Motherboard

Perfect for my theme, had all the connections I needed and will need for future additions. Solid board!

Memory

All 4 sticks tested with no errors. XMP running at 2400 MHz. Great memory.

Storage

SSDs are crazy fast and this one doesn't disappoint. There are better out there, but not for this price point. Using it for OS and Main programs.

Storage

Great drive and for $49, I'll be buying at least another.

Video Card

Not the fastest GTX 1070 available but it works great and it matched my theme. No back plate makes it absolutely horrible looking from the top. I will be creating my own back plate for it and will post pics when I finally get it done. I think it will look sick then. Knocked off a star just for not having a back plate. Might get another for SLI, maybe? lol

Case

This case is NICE and HUGE too. Plenty of room to work in and really looks nice. Mine came with one of the top vent cover latches broken, and the vent wouldn't stay down. E-mailed Phanteks about the problem, sent a couple pictures and a copy of the invoice and they immediately sent me two replacement latches, no questions asked. The ONLY thing I can gripe about is that at this price point I would expect the front panel cords to be sleeved or at least wrapped to NOT show any of the nasty red/yellow cabling on the Audio and USB cords. It's not much, but about 1/4-1/2" shows and it's in the case, where I want it all black or white.

Power Supply

Not much to say. Damn good PSU and got a great deal on it. $99 and $15 MIR. Modular PSUs are the only way to go IMO

Operating System

mehh. It's the newest Microsoft OS. Not bad, getting used to it

Case Fan

Quite, move a lot fo air and have LEDs to help with my white build.

Keyboard

So far I love the keyboard. Matches my theme, fairly responsive, plenty of features and has the ability to change the back lighting to almost any color.

Mouse

Matches my theme and keyboard. Also has the ability to change lighting to almogt any color.

I like this build! I think with a few mods and maybe some fans swapped out this would be even more epic. I personally would have gotten more of the enermax fans, a custom white GPU backplate from V1Tech, & some custom white/grey sleeved cables But I think this is a super solid build! Don't pay me any attention though I just like modding stuff lol

White sleeved cables is in the future I'm thinking and I think you'll like the back plate i'm working on.

wait you make your own back plates? If so I might need your services soon.

Well I'm going to try and make one for this build. Never made one before but I'll post pics when I'm done...if it turns out good. Lol

Very nice build! +1

I would have gone with 2X8gb to not fill all 4 slots with 16gb of ram... Still an amazing build!

I didn't want two empty slots and 32 was complete overkill I think. I can always upgrade to more later if ever I need it

Nice build mate +1 I am using the MSI Arctic Mortar so the motherboards will look similar when I get money.

nice, another good Luxe build. I have the same case myself. I have a bit of advice for your fan setup. the two 140's in the topof the case should be moved to the front, the 200 mm fan you can place as top exhaust if you want. that is a better fans setup for optimal front intake. also, lose the unoccupied hard drive cage.

I still have the three 140s that came with the case. I can throw those in the front to replace the 200

that would be perfect.

Beautiful build! I don't see what kind of monitor you're running, but I'm planning on purchasing the same gpu, cpu and motherboard - though I'm using a 4k monitor. Do you think it'll run it just fine?

Don't pay attention to my monitor. lol It's the weakest link in the system and eventually will be replaced, just have other pressing things at the moment taking my time. That's why it took me so long to respond.

Yes, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't handle 4k

LOL, Awesome. It's a really clean look. I got the idea from a youtube video, so don't feel bad.

This is almost an exact replica of the first build i am working on. Where did you buy the sabertooth motherboard from? Also did the case not come with fans? If it did why did you buy more?

Sorry for the late reply. Been absent lately. lol Motherboard was from Newegg .. Buy most of my stuff from them. Bought the extra fans for the LED lights. Replaced 3 of the basic fans to increase ambient lighting inside the case. I still used several of the fans, as I'm running 5 case fans.

Nice build! What LEDs did you use, NZXT hue or something else? Cheers.

Phanteks has a lighting strip that u can buy that hooks up to your case. To control it there is a button that cycles through the colors.
