First Build: Moderate Gamer. Building a PC has always been something I've wanted to do and never really been able to do. My girlfriend pushed me to work on a parts list and do my research because I said I wanted parts toward my build for my birthday this year. So I had the case and the video card already to start with. I decided on the rest based on previous reviews and other builds on pcpartpicker. This build turned out great. I have 0 complaints about this machine. My amazing girlfriend hooked me up with the Power Supply, the SSD, CPU Cooler, and the CD Drive for my birthday which really got the build moving from gathering dust to becoming a reality. My brother previously had given me the case and video card and decided to help out with the MOBO for my birthday. So I was able to pick up the CPU, RAM, OS, and a spare HD to round out this completed build. My girlfriend and I put it together in a few hours and it was up and running in minutes. I'm using a TV via HDMI as a screen and I had a Netgear USB wireless card, and keyboard and mouse from a previous computer. This computer runs like a dream compared to my Eee PC netbook. Tick one off the bucket list. This is AWESOME.

Part Reviews

This beautiful CPU is a BOSS. The 4GHz actual speed and overclocking possibility is worth every penny.

CPU Cooler

If looking for a decent cooler at a great price you can't go wrong. So far its keeping things cool and running efficiently. Came with what seems to be adequate thermal past. No problems here. Fan is super quiet and you can customize with a second fan.

This MOBO is awesome. The BIOS is great and easy to use. Everything is well labeled. The I/O shield sucks and was not easy to get to work. Literally the hardest part of the build was getting the I/O shield to play nice. Came with just enough cables to connect my CD drive, HD, and SSD.

They're blue. They're RAM. No complaints.

My OS is loaded on the SSD drive and its lightning fast. Great Buy.

Great value on a traditional 1 TB HD

Video Card

So far no complaints. Runs great, Great Graphics, Great Speed.

Perfect Case for a first time build. Plenty of space. Came with two case fans, both are really quiet and work amazing.

Power Supply

Came with everything I needed. Great power supply.

Optical Drive

Runs Great. Its quiet. It functions.

Operating System

Its Windows. It will eventually loose support but not before 7.

Brother gave a very nice gift! Congrats on your first build! Only thing I can say is you need some cable management, but that will come with time and experience.

Also what does ARIES stand for in this situation? Greek god of war (misspelled if thats the case) or because its your first build and Aries is the first zodiac sign?

It's meant for a combination of things. Yes, Aries the zodiac sign, it's the zodiac sign for my girlfriend. A dedication and appreciation for her help and push to make my dream a reality. Also, Aries's planet is Mars which represents the Greek and roman gods of war. I also felt it would just be a cool project name.

The build. The computer. The check mark knocking one off the bucket list. This build was a dream. It's something I've wanted to do for years.
