A new computer for a 70 year old friend that will run Linux Mint, which is currently booting in around 2 seconds to the desktop with auto-login.
NOTE: the mobo and the PSU come with right angle SATA plugs, you will need straight SATA plugs (both data and power) to use the 2.5" mounting hole on the bottom of the case for the SSD. I added part links for the right sata cables.
Make sure you get the polarity of the power and hdd leds correct, the mobo quickstart guide shows the pinout of the headers.
Thank you for the comments! Updates based on your feedback:
To the person who said my fan cables might snag the cpu fan, they DID! I overtightened the case fan cable when putting on the cable ties that came with the PSU and it jammed the cpu fan, and I was wondering why the temp was 70 at idle, fixed that with a couple more cable ties. Pic is updated with the cables tied up.
The 1866mhz ram was a mistake, the mobo (H87) only does 1600 and the pentium only allows 1333. If the cpu ever gets upgraded, it will run at 1600, so I guess that's ok. In any case, I updated my parts list with much cheaper 1333 ram:
