Description

This is the HTPC I have attached to my 52" Sony. Unfortunately, this appears to be the only photos I have of it, because it was constructed in a hurry.

The Processor/motherboard were a gift from another reddit user and frequent of the /r/buildapc IRC. I'll be paying him back...somehow...

The PSU was recycled from the Hlidskjalf build when I swapped in an 850W.

The HDD is taken from an external drive.

The RAM was taken from the Nightmare build, because I couldn't fit the last stick in there with the Hyper 212+.

Everything else was purchased at retail.

How does the 64 gig ssd hold up with windows 8 on it? I'm thinking about getting rid of my mechanical HDD in my media center. Nothing really will be installed on it except XBMC and video drivers.

Even with Win8 and a few small games installed, I've still got half the hard drive free. With what you're describing, you could get away with one of those early 30GB ones.

Thanks! Yeah cause I have a 120 for my regular build and I'm using up around 47 gigs. I practically have nothing installed on it haha. Yeah maybe one of those 30 gig ones would do the trick. Everything I have is accessed though my network. Plus I only have sata 2 on my media center MB. Don't feel like spending too much.

Is this meant to be a gaming build?

As I said in the description, this is an HTPC with the option to expand to a video card if I decide to travel a bit.
