Description

My brother asked for his 21st if we could revamp his PC. His main problem was that the case had really poor airflow and was causing overheating issues a build up of dust. He also felt it could do with some more personality.

We bought him a new case with much more room and added 2x140mm fans at the front and a 120mm fan at the back, a vast improvement from the 1x80mm fan he had before. I also added a 120mm CPU Cooler to replace the stock Intel fan. He found his WD Black quite noisy, so we replaced it with a lower RPM WD Green. We also just had our WiFi upgraded to AC to his old, annoying, pigtail Wireless-N card was replaced.

For improved looks I managed to hide the cables much better due to the more spacious case, added some sticker bomb vinyl wrap to the sides and an NZXT Hue for awesome disco lights.

All parts marked as £0 were existing from his old Novatech build or second-hand from my old parts.

That is one of the coolest, simplest case mods I've ever seen. It looks sooooo nice. Also, great job with the cable management.

You did a great job revamping the system without just scraping it and building a new one, which I think most people would have done.

Awesome, awesome work. +1

(Add pictures of it lit up, I wanna see the LEDS haha)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it!

If I can convince him to part with it long enough and unplug it from the myriad of cables I'll take some lit up pictures!

I really like this a lot! I think if I did this, however, I would Sticker Bomb the inside and leave the outside completely clean. Mainly so it looks normal but when you get close it's super cool and interesting. Maybe that's just me, though. Although one thing that could vastly improve the look with the stickers on the outside is to Sticker Bomb the swivel door.

We thought about doing the front, he decided he'd see what it's like as it is and we can add it later if he still wants it.

We thought about the inside too but there are so many bumps that it was just a nightmare thinking about it let alone doing it.

stickers just mean race car status. Sadly, just the outside of this case, and not the internals.

We wanted to do the inside, but the inside has lots of slopes and bumps I didn't feel I could make a very good job of it. Maybe some day!

oh, I didn't mean put stickers in the inside as well!!! I meant the Hardware didn't look like a race car. Or perform as such :(

Again, I love the outside case mods, the stickers work so well. Also, your cable management looks very nice as well, so props to that as well.

I really like it. I love the sticker, and I love the blue mobo and the green RAM. The colors and stickers make me feel like I'm back on the North Shore in Hawaii. I love these builds, nothing against the other outstanding builds here. But I really love the personality in this one! Thank you for sharing!

At first I wasn't so sure, but now I think I like it!

Question is; is your brother chuffed?

I'm glad!

He put it on his Snapchat story so I think so!

Really nice case mod +1

But why you build the PSU with the fan to the top? I think you can build it the other way round... That would improve the temps further ;)

Thanks (: I put the PSU that way around because he keeps it on carpet sometimes, but I found that there's a dust filter, so maybe I'll switch it.

No problem ;) I have the Define S on a carpet too, and I get no problems. I have more dust at the front filter as in the bottom filter xD

I might be doing the sticker thing myself. Did you buy all the stickers or did you just have them laying around unused?

I bought a vinyl wrap with the stickers printed on from eBay (Kind of cheating I know but much easier and still looks good).
