After 6 years of using my Sandy Bridge 2500k rig, Intel finally release a worthy successor. My good old 2500k is still a decent chip but it’s getting a bit long in the tooth (barely plays YouTube 2k60fps without dropping frames). Plan for the build is quite straightforward, I wanted a relatively capable system with RGB in a compact mid tower. Choosing parts was less straightforward due to RAM and GPU price hikes, space constraints and overall aesthetics. Build was relatively straightforward except for the cable management; the cabling side barely fits everything with the drive cages and intake fan up front, not to mention the obscene amount of cabling from the Corsair RGB fans and controllers. Overall, I’m very glad how the build turns out and hopefully, it’ll last me the next 5 years or more.
