Description

For this build I wanted to have a fourth and final PC for a big classic games LAN party I'm hosting after wrestling season. I approached this build by first looking for a cheap prebuilt pc preferably an optiplex that i could snag for under $40. I snagged the base model optiplex 745 for 30$ and i was surprised with how good of shape it was in. The next thing i did was i bought the RAM for 1$ a piece off CEX and i also purchased a gt 710 but it turned out not being low profile so i had to settle with the lowest costing gpu that was low profile and still beneficial. I bought the hd 6350 for $5 off ebay buy now and i won the intel e 6600 off a bid where i bid 1$ and just payed shipping. I am only playing classic games on this, no AAA games, currently Battlefront 2 and GTA SA

Yo, it's another OptiPlex. I like these things; the old OptiPlexes are fun.

I have the same gpu, and a firepro 2270 ( Not passively cooled, with 512MB of ram ), which is identical to the HD 6350, which is the same as the HD 5450.

Apparently they score about 200 on passmark. For reference, the 750 ti scores about 3686, the GTX 1050 scores about 5203, and the Intel HD 3000 scores about 312.

Not the most powerful card ever.

I was able to get mine for $1.80 from Weird Stuff.

Not at all. The wattage is barely there which helps too

The HD 6350 is one of the lowest wattage cards on PCPartpicker!

15 watts for the win!

Why did you decide to buy the HD 6350 over something like a R7 240-250?

Well first it was dirt cheap and its my fourth computer so i didnt want to spend a lot. Also it had to be a slim card unlike a normal gpu. The wattage on my psu in this is also 265w so low power is always a must. I actually did order a gt 710 i snagged for cheap but it wasnt slim like i thought so i couldnt use it

I had the full tower version of the Optiplex 745 before this build and absolutely loved it. Upgrade that badboy to 4x2GB of DDR2 800Mhz and slap a Q6600 with a 750ti/1050ti in there and maybe an SSD then you'll be rocking modern AAA titles in no time. No PSU upgrade required.

I did search for a full tower but i found this first and snagged it. These optiplex 7xx's are awesome for the upgradeability factor
