Description

Hi guys,

The build is used pretty much solely for gaming and any other general tasks like most of the computers you'll see on here. I wanted to balance cost with performance whilst still looking a bit pretty, and not the RGB "gamer" pretty, something a bit more "minimalistic" hence the name.

I intend on purchasing the 1180 when released and felt like for the meantime the 1070 was perfect for what I wanted to play @ 144hz whilst still retaining a BIT of money. Absolutely no issues with any of the parts purchased, will at some point also getting a liquid cooler but just kept it basic for the moment to keep costs down and will not be overclocking the CPU until that point.

Case fans are set up with x2 140mm intakes in front, x2 exhausts above and x1 exhaust in the rear, and i'm happy with the temps i'm getting for air cooling so far. The only issue I would have is the colour of the GPU, white and blue is just a bit bleh and I was really enjoying the black/white aesthetic with black being the majority.

Look forward to any feedback or questions, cheers!

Part Reviews

CPU

Solid CPU, haven't tested OC abilities yet but as all the reviews state it's a beast.

CPU Cooler

Brilliant budget CPU cooler, solid look and build quality, surprisingly low temps.

Motherboard

Brilliant functionality, LEDs are a bit weak but not why you buy a mobo I suppose. Lots of slots for case fans, although they're in slightly awkward places.

Memory

RAM is RAM I suppose, but it's pretty.

Storage

Solid SSD, if you can get it on sale even better.

Video Card

Nice card, was cheap also, the only reason i'm giving it 4/5 instead of all stars is because of the colours (blue/white), don't let that put you off this otherwise excellent budget card.

Case

Without a shadow of a doubt the best case i've ever owned, escapes that "gamer" look whilst still looking pretty. Fractal have done it yet again, just buy it.

Power Supply

Good PSU and got it for an incredibly low price, happy customer.

Operating System

You already know what you're getting, solid OS.

Wireless Network Adapter

No issues so far, brilliant networking card, bluetooth is nice.

Case Fan

Quiet, nice to match with others in Meshify C.

Case Fan

Custom

Owned the non-RGB version years ago, the most sturdy and grip-friendly mouse i've ever owned, can't see myself ever buying anything other than a replacement of exactly the same mouse if it breaks (which I doubt it will).

Custom

Good panel quality as you'd expect from Samsung, issues that people "claimed" online weren't there for myself. The stand doesn't help you out with desk space, and is also slightly "flimsy", very solid build quality though. All in all i'm happy with the purchase and quality of the monitor, had I not been lucky to get it on sale though I could see myself having more critiques.

Custom

Honestly don't think I can do this keyboard justice, now bear in mind this is the first fully mechanical keeb i've owned so my experience is limited in that sense. What I can speak for is all the flashy RGB "gaming" keyboards i've owned in the past (which weren't cheap), this absolutely mops the floor with them. £22 for fantastic build quality, imitation Cherry MX blues which are a dream to type on and EXTREMELY solid build quality, I honestly don't understand how they're making money selling them this cheap, do yourself a favour and if you're needing a backup keeb for whatever reason and you have £22 spare, buy this absolute gem of a budget peripheral.

Nice Build, I would like to have seen Fractal offer a an option of a none tinted glass side so you can see clearly what's inside.

Thank you, yeah that would be nice for builds that really pick there parts with a colour scheme in mind, fortunately for myself and others it only really lets LED lights stand out taking away from parts that don't match the colour scheme.

nice build, Meshify design was great case to be involved with, and the tinted glass just made more sense at the time
