Description

A little bit of back story: my car was recently broken into and so I needed replace my laptop. I had tentative plans to build an HTPC and ended up going a little over the top; retail therapy is the best therapy.

Cable management could use quite some work...It will help airflow, therefore cooling ability, therefore noise.

How is that TV Tuner card working for you? Do you like it?

Man! What if your car was stolen? Would you have bought an entire dealership? :)

Why would he buy the dealership?

His laptop was stolen. He buys a new laptop.

His car was stolen. He buys a new car. Why would he buy the dealership? That's like him buying intel because his laptop was stolen lol

Because his laptop was stolen and he bought an all-out beast (for the price).

That would be like him buying a really nice sports car when his old car was stolen. Not a dealership.

Heard of a hyperbole? I agree with you but this guy was exaggerating for comedic effect

Yes, I have. But that's not a hyperbole, it's more irrelevant.

Apparently you don't read build descriptions...

Apparently he does, otherwise how would he know the laptop was stolen??

and the plot thickens...

Exactly! How would I know? Well, the truth is, it was a lucky guess. See, I am illiterate.

Why not? I didn't say his car what stolen. I said "His laptop was stolen. He buys a new laptop."

Then, in response to his analogy, I said, "His car was stolen. He buys a new car." I'm not saying he actually did it. I'm saying that that's what he would due in order to remain true to the analogy.

This is a silly argument. You shouldn't have started it.

You should use the 6+2 pin PCIe connectors from your power supply to power your graphics card instead of the 4 pin molex adapter. You should only use the adapter if your power supply doesn't have any of the PCIe connectors on it. That would clean up the cables a bit too.

I was drinking when I read that, had to cover my mouth to keep from spewing tea all over my keyboard haha...It reminded me of a stupid but hilarious inside joke

Good build, but one thing to mention is that if you flip the power supply over it will look cleaner and get better airflow!

  • -1 points

I think you are confused, the reason the power supply should be the other way is because it should be pulling cool air from underneath the case instead of warm air from the gpu.

Edit: Replace "should be the other way" with "should be facing down". That should clarify what I am trying to say.

He said it should be pointing down...

  • -1 points

I know that, but he said it was because it would help with airflow, which doesn't really make sense. I was correcting the reason not the original statement.

if anyone is confused I think it is you, because it is drawing in warm air right now.... it should be facing down

  • -1 points

I am not disputing the fact that the power supply's fan should be facing down.

and its on a carpet the power supply would suffocate from having no air. Warm air is better than none

Quick question what does your car have to do with replacing your laptop?

  • 7 points

His laptop was probably stolen when his car was broken into.

"my car was recently broken into" Do you by any chance live in the hood?

  • 2 points

No if he lived in the hood and a robber was trying to break in he would probly know cause he is in the front of the car, and he would get out of the hood and stop him!

Weird motherboard there. 990FX is the chipset you want to the 8320. also you couldve gotten a better psu. LOVE THE CASE THOUGH.

Nice build, but don't you think the ram was a bit expensive?

  • 0 points

That's pretty much the normal price for 16gb right now.

And besides, that is arguably some of the best ram at the moment.

You mean best rebranding^

Regardless of branding and re-branding it is good RAM.
