Description

No holds barred, 3D gaming machine. Was going to go X99 and GTX 980's but apparently Z97 and GTX 780 ti are top of the gaming game. Firestrike scores in the 23000's...

Been tinkering with a GTX 980, it appears faster than a GTX780ti, but the 780 is at the top of it's game. Will wait for 980ti's before "investing". May also "invest" in that X99 build... It never ends!

Antec Eleven Hundred V2 is the correct case.

No custom water-cooling loop yet. Debating on video card water cooling because the PNY cards have a Lifetime warranty as they are registered. Pull them apart, no more warranty...

Intel SSD drives set up as RAID 0 WD 3TB Black drives set up as RAID 1

4790K will run nicely at 4.9ghz Machine pulls max 1300+ watts from the outlet.

No build problems other than a faulty BIOS, built-in RAID controller not working properly. New board coming.

Changed red LED's to green... (Need to update pics.) Going to buy some green LED fans as well. But for now running 8 120mm fans, getting the job done. Machine runs cool. Idle in the 20's C.

$3k worth of graphics cards, that is awesome!

The SLI bridge is so big, you'll need to pay property tax on it lol.

Nice build though, that should get the job done!

Is 4 780ti in sli better than 3 Titan x in sli? Also the 12gb and potentially 36 gigs of vram (with direct x 12 maybe) could have made your 3 monitor gaming experience even better! But I can't hate on your build, it is just amazing and not too many builds are too this extreme it is lovely!

Hell no, 4 way scaling isn't worth it in my honest opinion, and temps will be soaring with 4 of those mothertruckers. 3 titan X's would easily beat it.

It's a lifetime warranty, I don't think it's worth it.

The way I see it, pre-900 series cards may still be good, but they're the best they're ever going to get simply because the driver updates and optimizations have run their course. The power gap may be sort of small now, but the 900s will evolve and be optimized enough to make them worth the extra coin.

For 3k I would have gotten 3 Titan Xs and called it a day... but that's just me I guess.

I'm thinking of doing a quad sli (Titan-x) build for 4k surround with a quad core processor (i7-6700) simulcast to this. Anyone know if it'll be handicapped by not having an octa-core (i7-5960x)?

Even 3 Titan X's bottle neck a 5960X OC'd to 4.6

Not sure how much you paid for the case then but now that case is really cheap I have seen it for as low as $20

Damn! Can't wait to see more pics! We have the same Antec Eleven Hundred v2 case. You didn't have any clearance issues with the radiator by the top of the mobo? Been wanting to get a 240mm rad with that case.
