Description

Feuerwasser (ger.: Firewater)

(Semi-)Budget build for dj and programmer Haki. Using mostly used parts. Dedicated to programming and gaming at 1080p.

An Intel CPU and a reasonabely future-proof socket / chipset were the only things specifically requested, so i got CPU and mainboard first.
Got a good deal on the MSI Z97M-G43 and from there on planned on a mATX build with a red & blue colorway.
Got an offer i couldn't refuse on the HIS R9 390, painted it red and bought a new pair of Kingston Savage to be the counterpart to the blue MoBo.
With what the german market has to offer, Thermaltake Versa H15 and Thermalright Macho 90 are no-brainers, when building a non-oc'ed mATX system.
A modular PSU would have been optimal for use in a case this small, but since i made another godfather-like 2nd hand purchase with the full-wired XFX i had to be creative. I stored all unused (and even some used) power cables in the hardrivebay on top of the HDD and pulled the sleeved PCIe connectors through between them.
With the LED fans installed facing each other, it creates a kind of color-sectioned look with which i'm deeply contented (THX to buzzard437 & VVaId0 for the inspiration!).

edit:
RAM upgraded to 4 x 4GB.

This would be so much better if you could edit the prices you actually paid, and since I'm from Italy I think I could relate to them better than our non european friends :) just courious!

Also the case looks surprisingly good for a thermaltake one O.o good job!

Almost everything was bought used, so you wouldn't benefit from it anyways. ; )

Thank you! Runs Witcher 3 in 1080p with hairworks off and almost everything on ultra (shadows: high) with an average 50+ fps.

How did you do that faded effect on your pics? I've been trying to recreate it but it won't turn out quite right

  • 1 point

What do you mean? The depth of the view? The tone of the black?

  • 1 point

the black tone. I didn't notice the depth of field thing. was that also post processing?

  • 1 point

Nope, that's an open lense. The black tone is a 'color curve'-thing. PS: edit > adjustment > curves
