Description
Just a little something to get me through the winter. Mostly used for minesweeper and Microsoft word. Hoping to get custom cables in the future.
Also I'm taking these pictures with a potato.
Edit: Getting BSODs from the ram. Sigh. I love RMAs.
Edit 2: New ram fixed the problem.
Part Reviews
CPU
Fast and runs at 5.0Ghz @1.26v. I keep it at stock though because all the excess heat outweighs the very slight performance improvement.
CPU Cooler
Keeps the i9 under 60C while gaming. Bit of a pain to install and wire but is cool and quiet. Replaced stock fans with 3 Noctua NF-A12x25.
Motherboard
A solid board. Nice little touch of rgb and overclocks fine.
Memory
32GB is a bit excess but wanted to future proof a bit with this build. RGB was the main focus with this one and does not disappoint. Received a faulty kit but will RMA and hopefully get it functional. Completely corrupted my OS.
Storage
SSDs are getting pretty cheap these days so it's good for the cost.
Storage
A speedy boot drive. Not much of a difference between the 860 Evo in game load times though.
Video Card
Hella expensive. Had to sell a few kidneys for this one. Not worth it at all but its fast I guess. Sits at about 62C at full load.
Case
Very good construction quality. Virtually identical to the Define S2 but with more airflow and the Meshify aesthetic. Only gripe was the very little clearance between the top AIO and the ram. Very difficult to run cables through there. Also the motherboard wouldn't really fit properly onto the center peg. Don't know if that's the mobo or Fractal's fault on that one. The front panel was also a pain to work with as it is connected to the front IO so you can't fully remove it. I had to set the panel on top of my head so I could get the 3 front fans screwed in.
Power Supply
No problems. Silent and efficient.
Case Fan
Pushes a ton of air at low RPMs making it completely inaudible. Used as my front intake and rear exhaust. Make a annoying whining noise when changing rpms though.
Case Fan
The best fan I've ever owned. Even at 2000 RPM you can barely hear it. Great for radiators and has a fantastic build quality.
