Killer gaming PC. Using for 1080p 144hz and couldn't be happier with the results. SLI 970s are a beast.
Really really nice build! +1
So... clean +1
Thanks, minus the power cables to the GPUs. I was so tired of cable management at that point.
Is this a joke? LOL
it looks quite clean to me
Its not that clean it has 4 cables laying right in the open you could at least zip tie them together and stuff
4 cables really bothers you? Man man man...
Yes sir they do
where are your framerates w the likes of far cry 4? Able to lock at 144? have similar config but at 1440p.
I don't have Far Cry 4. But here goes:
Dragon Age Inquisition (ultra settings, 4x MSAA): 100 - 120 fps
Crysis 3 (ultra settings, 8x MSAA): 60 - 80 FPS (based on only the first two levels)
Bioshock Infinite (ultra settings): steady 144 FPS with vsync
Witcher 2 (ultra settings, uber sampling off): steady 144 fps with vsync
Thief (ultra settings, 3840 X 2160P DSR): 60+ FPS (based on the in-game benchmark, I feel like this one would be lower in-game)
So I'd say I could lock in a steady 144 in any of this games if I lowered the anti-aliasing, but it's so much fun to just max out the settings in the game and see what happens.
did you buy this at waffle house?
Can't stand that place!
You sound like an IHOP kinda guy
I've actually never been to one.
classy. thumbs up sir
Nice computer! Too bad IHop doesn't sell these things. :P
Thanks! Yeah especially if they sold them at the same price as the pancakes
Yeah, talk about a computer economy collapse if that was true lol.
How's the 3d monitor working out for you? Looking to pick a 27" of the same model.
The monitor's great, but no idea about the 3d. I just got it for the 144hz.
Let me rephrase then. How's the 144hz working out? :D
I love the computer man, but I gotta ask, where did you get that desk? Is that just an IKEA desk or somewhere local? It looks freaking great!
Thanks! Hey I think I got it at a Staples years and years ago. It was really cheap too, something like $80-120.
:O sooooo ummm I'm going to Staples right now. Thanks!! i'll tell them that bootlegwaffle sent me!
I know it's been a while, but how are the temperatures? I'm considering SLI-ing my EVGA SSC 970, but worried about temperatures with non-reference cards.
Just saw this. With high demand games, top one is as high as 70 C and bottom one 60-65. This is with no overclocking. So honestly temp isn't a problem.
Sweet, thanks! That's not far off my single card temps (for the bottom card at least), so I should be fine in the future.
