Description

Ill try keep it short and simple.

CPU - i7 4790k, great processor with decent overclock ability (my chip atleast) I was able to get a stable 4.7 while maintaining 1.275 volts.

GPU - These things are monsters and overclock like bats out of hell, they are both currently oc'd to 1375 on the gpu clock and running a light overclock of 7400 Mhz on the memory, they stay very cool thanks to my EK waterblock. I have both cards flashed running skyn3t bios with the voltage bumped up a bit.

Memory - G Skill Trident X runs great @ 2400mhz, no instability issues.

Motherboard - I usually go with Asus high end ROG boards but they still have none out for the Z97 chipset, I have heard great things about this Gigabyte board and with the built in waterblock I could not pass it up, also the ability to run SLI @ 16x for both cards.

SSD - It is a EVO, works great super fast.

Case - Corsair 760T this is probably the best case I have owned, cable management was easy and I LOVE the doors.. (I HATE THUMB SCREWS) Plenty of space to watercool.

Watercooling - EK 140 Res with D5 Pump , SwiftTech 240MM Radiator , SwiftTech 360MM Radiator, 2x EK 780 Classy Waterblocks , EK Supremacy CPU block , PrimoChill 3/8 x 1/2 tubing and a mix of fittings including Koolance and Bitspower.

Use - I use it for gaming and benchmarking, plain and simple! I work on my work computer :)

Beautiful build, but lets get to business. Can I have it?

But can it run crysis?

obviously but i doubt it could run intense games like minecraft or even god forbid minesweeper

And don't forget to mention the horrifyingly laggy turbotax

Why does everyone say this stuff.... Is it just me that finds these comments very repetitive and not very funny any more.

Lovely build. No 4k monitor though? Just waiting until it's easier to run modern titles at 4k?

  • 3 points

waiting until a 4k 120hz monitor is out and gpu power is able to push 120fps in sli @ 4k =) which is gonna be a while. I cannot play at anything below 120hz I am now spoiled it is so much smoother. I will pick up the rog swift 2560x1440p 144hz monitor when its out.

Alright, that makes sense. 2560x1440 with G-Sync will be sexy.

You won't be able to run games at 4K very well because the 3gb VRAM will bottleneck (BF4 already uses 3.4gb at 4K on a Titan)

are those the real temps your getting on your gpus?

  • 2 points

I listed them up top :) but I am getting 28 or so idle and 40-45 underload and that's with the voltage set at 1.3 per card. I highly recommend EK, amazing blocks.

impresive temps for just 2 radiators!

Amazing build, personally i wouldve saved on the 780 ti's instead of the kingpin models and went for a intel 4930k cpu for the memory bandwith

  • 1 point

I've had a 4930K, and honestly I feel unless your running 3 way / 4 way sli there is really no bottleneck with a 4790K.

  • 1 point

looks fine but the 780ti's are massive over kill for 1080p from the benchmark

Post some benchmarks with those GPU overclocks!

+1 for amazing build.

This is similar to what I plan to build in a month. This build is sexy.

Now THAT'S a gaming station! Fantastic build, man!

You effectively doubled my score on Firestrike. It's... it's beautiful tear. That is probably my favorite case yet. One thing I did notice was you only had the SSD listed. Are there any other hard drives you use? This is so fantastic. You should post scores of Firestrike Extreme. This build is superb!

This is my build without the liquid cooling and Im going to use the maximus vii formula and an 850 pro as my solid state drive, even though only my CPU will be water cooled, do you think I will get alright preformance on 1440p if I overclock the Kingpins on air to maybe 1300mhz ???

Now THAT is how you build in a 760t! I kinda disagree on spending about 100 bucks on a wireless adapter. But NICE build +1

7.8/10 - Too much water.

This is a super build, the whole system is water cooled. I am pricing my water cooling and is above 1000, maybe I need to shop for more bargains. EKWB has excellent water blocks.

Is it me or is the top GPU sagging really badly?

  • 1 point

it actually was, I had the pci-e cables to tight, was a bit lazy in retaking photos :)

At least you noticed it, wouldn't want anything bad happening to the precious 780 Ti
