Very descriptive, thank you!
no thank you.
I'll add a description and more pictures when I have time.
See you got some great deals on these parts. Where did you buy from ?
Dumb luck mostly. I bought the mobo and cpu together on ebay for $300 and then found a poorly advertised 980ti right before the auction ended. I got the case on amazon with some gift cards I'd been hording and the rest I waited for good sales on.
Are you running stock or overclocked? Broadwell-E had overclocking crippled by a Intel microcode update in a Windows Update recently.
I haven't overclocked yet but the last owner had it at 4.6 with fairly low voltage. I'll see what I can do when I have time.
It may be better to not overclock if you're running an up to date copy of Windows, since overclocking was crippled with the microcode update. The only workaround was to apply an Intel XTU profile at boot each time.
Do you know if it will be fixed?
Intel needs to push a new microcode to fix the issue, but it's up to Intel, and right now they don't have attention on this issue.
Hardware Unboxed were the only people to bring it up.
Gamer's Nexus might be interested.
