Description

I previously had the Godzilla build and I really wasn't feeling the design and couldn't stand the hack job I did with making a pass through for the power cables. Thermaltake was kind enough to custom make me a bottom panel and I decided to completely redo the loop and add a few items. Here is a link to my build log video I hope you guys enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55SXQ2NLLjQ

Every piece in the new build actually has a purpose other than the second 480mm radiator I through that in just for fun. I added a fan controller in so when I am just doing some moderate gaming I can turn all the fans down to 900rpms and still get a great temp. But I can turn them back up when benchmarking. So the push pull and the extra radiators have its purpose. The drive cage I put in the middle stores the temp sensors, fan controller, and the harddrive adapter that holds 1 x 3.5 3TB harddrive and 2 X 2.5 1 TB harddrives. I also do Photo and Video editing on top of programming so I need all the extra space I can get.

On a more serious note... +1 really nice job

Solid build. When I eventually got water cooled I'll get a second 1080 and go SLI. At the moment I haven't seen a need.

Well hot damn dude, that's quite the upgrade! Would you say the Core W100 is worth the money?

  • 1 point

I would say so if you aren't going for something crazy like my rig the W100 is perfect and in the future you wanted to expand you can if you wanted to.

Aww man very nice build! +1 Only suggestion I have (which maybe too late) is to run the fan cables behind/through the radiator screws for a cleaner look.

for the most are you can't really see them with the door panel on. I wanted to get more extensions but my budget was getting pretty small and I couldn't dump any more money into it without getting myself into trouble.

Uhh there was a budget for this beast? Your significant other must REALLY love you!

  • 1 point

Yes Yes She does haha. I only upgrade about ever 4 or 5 years. some of the stuff is from my old build. like the fans and a couple radiators. But the hardware is all new so I probably wont see another upgrade until 2020 lol or if I win the lottery haah

I would recommend a better UPS because the one you have looks like it couldn't handle a power outage and youd lose work.

  • 1 point

Oh it definitely can not hold the computer while gaming. it is from my old rig. but with the new pascal cards they dont eat up as much power. If the power did go out it should give me just enough time to shut it down. I will eventually upgrade to a bigger one.

Wow.... What do you do other than gaming ? Also, why did you get 2 1080 monitors and one 1440 with 2 1080s ? They would kill 4k.

  • 2 points

I only gaming on the Middle 1440 Asus monitor, other than gaming I do Video editing, Vms and programming. The extra monitors come in handy when editing and programming. They also came from my old rig no one really wanted them so I just keep them with my rig.

lol Lots of save I will probably not upgrade for a few years just like my old rig. my old rig had old 780s and before then I had the 8800GTS. so usually only upgrade every 5 years or so.

Wow! Solid build man! Almost hit the $10k price tag.

Great Build! The W100 gets a lot of hate because it looks like a caselabs case, but I'd play $300 less for a similar case any day :D. +10

I would consider painting the drive holder a matte black to help it blend in more. How much were you able to overclock the CPU and GPUs?

  • 1 point

I thought about it but I was thinking the silver would accent with the rest of the chrome parts in the build. I was able to get the I7 5930k to 4.8Ghz @ 1.45v which is very high but was only to run a benchmark for a short period. Daily is sits at 4.5Ghz @ 1.3v The 1080s I was able to get them to 2152MHz core and 11500Mhz on the memory Stable in Benchmarks and gaming. here is a link to the last time I ran Firestrike. I think with the new drivers I may be able to squeeze just a little more out of them.

I am amazed by how amazing all of the 6-7k builds are. I am currently running on about $7900 and that is without a fancy case or nice water cooling :c.

A larger case, customer sleeving, and EKWB water cooling kit and some Corsair fans are in mind for the future when I have the $$$ but great build and +1 for you!

haah I wish man my entire build had a specific budget so when the money is gone it is gone. I only upgrade every 4 or 5 years.
