Description

I've been wanting to build a PC for about 5 months and I finally had a way to build it. I started working a minimum wage job during June, and it has SUCKED. Once I finally had enough to build, I ordered everything at once from amazon. I did wait untill prime day to get a good deal on the GPU and the PSU. The building experience was ok, couldn't get the motherboard to fit with the IO shield, so I just didn't use it. Over all, I am very satisfied with my build, and i would say that working the sh**ty job was 100% worth it.

UPDATE I've been using my pc almost every day since I built it and I can say it's been working out great. I have some benchmarks after a few weeks of playing each game. This build is PERFECT for what I tend to play. Justwish I used a ryzen processor instead, but I'm still satisfied.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU for mid-tier gaming. Runs super smooth without any issues.

Motherboard

Awesome mobo for a really cheap price. The IO shield would not line up due to the metal prongs, so I didn't use it. Plenty of room for upgrading.

Memory

It's basic RAM. Works fine and looks nice.

Storage

Wanted an SSD, but this boots fast enough for me. Plenty of space for games and apps.

Video Card

Amazing GPU, got it for $180 on prime day. It definitely does run pretty hot, and 3GB probably won't be enough in a few years. I would recommend either the SC version of this, or the 6GB model for a more future proof machine.

Case

Basic case for not a lot of money. Definitely not flashy, but works great for what I need.

Power Supply

Great PSU for $25 on prime day. Plenty of extra wattage for upgrading.

Case Fan

Dirt cheap and works pretty good. Keeps my smaller case cool and are very quiet.

Custom

Awesome combo for $50. Keyboard is amazing and lights up. The mouse is alright, sensor is not great though. The headset is basically a waste of space, I don't use it anyway.

LoL nice build! Enjoy it. Seems like you worked hard and sacrificed to get what you want so I applaud you for that. Happy gaming.

You should've put Ryzen 3 instead of intel. It's like $95? And problably get more performace out of it. But nice budget build!

Thanks m8, was gong to go with new i3 but got a good deal on the motherboard. Definitely will upgrade in the future though.

the mistake here was going with an -3 and intel in general for your budget

edit: -3 i3 same thing

I am planning to upgrade it in the future, but this will hold over until I make some more money next summer.

You say you plan to upgrade but you realize if you go with a K sku CPU you'll then need a new motherboard, vs going with a ryzen CPU and any b350 Mobo (all of which support overclocking) right?

Definitely go with the i3 8100 of your wanting to go with Intel. Much better then the 7100 but it's the same price

Pentium g4560 is only 12% less then the 7100. That only for the half of the price. Or go for an Ryzen 1200/i3-8100 that has 4 real cores. instead dualcore that has hyperThreading.

I know the cables are bad, me and my friend did the cables together, and his idea of cable management is a lot different from mine -_-
