Description

So I tore down one of my old builds and added some parts and re did some things, Eventually want to redo the cable management in the front but that'll be something I get to when I get to, Mainly use this for gaming since I have a media PC for other things which I'll also be tearing that one down and redoing in the old case from the previous build some of these parts came from, Oh and yes matter of fact I do know it is a 0 slot SLI build and no the card isn't going to catch on fire its okay guys haha

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU eventually will add an OC, just don't want to mess around with that until I need too

CPU Cooler

Saw it in a Ad for a Jayztwocents video and ended up picking it up, great cooler that keeps temps low

Motherboard

Always seem to find myself picking up ASRock boards and never had an issue with one yet so I'll continue to buy the brand that performs

Memory

Great DDR4 RAM for the price

Storage

OS drive and keeps them boot times low so I can't complain

Storage

Loud and obnoxious like a handy old mech drive, eventually want to get a WD black or Seagate barracuda 3TB or 4TB drive to replace this one

Video Card

Huge card but definitely performs well, first time Zotac purchase usually go MSI or EVGA but no Cons so far with the name brand

Case

Great MAtx case with amazing cable management and super sturdy, side panel on the back is sound proofed with padding and drive bays are rubber mounted for a quieter build.

Case Fan

Great case fans with RGB, rubber mount points, and sleeved cables

Monitor

For the Price 1440p 60hz OC'd to 80hz its a great panel

Keyboard

Great keyboard I'm a huge fan of logitech and cant find any cons other than I wouldnt pick this up if you were just getting it to type since the curved keycaps are kinda a pain for that, but gaming wise its a 5 star keyboard for sure

Mouse

Picked this up after my last mouse died and it's great if you like MMO's or other games that require some extra button use

Headphones

Upgraded from the wired version (G35) and love the wireless part of it all

This cable management makes me so happy, just the attention to detail on this build is fantastic. And the back of the case is so well managed, it's just so nice! As Lyrix said though, the RAM doesn't fit with the rest of the build but you could easily just spraypaint the heatsink. Also I'm kinda triggered by the fact that you have a V300 SSD, because they're not very reliable, but eh, your choice.+1 from me.

Haha thanks ks man I appreciate it and will definitely take that into consideration! And for the SSD I have a corsair 120gb in my other PC it was just when I bought this one it was on a good deal and couldn't resist haha

Unfinished Business

With the intimidating look on those two zotac you will have no problems taking care of business :)

Nice build! +1

Whenever you can I would replace the psu for a better one.

Here, take this: " . "

Other than that, great build, with aggressive looks. Do you plan to paint rams?

  • 1 point

I was thinking about it because everything is orange and yellow hardware wise and then the ram is red, so I might if I know I can make it look of good quality, last thing I want is for myself to make it look worse by my lack of artsmanship haha

Red to orange is low risk compared to most.

Definitely liking the orange! Great job. Those SLI 1070's will destroy anything at 1440p.

+1 and then sum! How is that mmo mouse? I'm stuck between that one and the corsair mmo mouse. Also how do you like the air flow with those fans?

  • 2 points

The mouse is great I came from a redragon perdition I think it was called and just the quality from logitech kinda makes it worth it, and the fans work amazing, super quite too

Hey man, just wondering if you had to mod anything to get the 240mm AIO to fit in the front of the case? I'm thinking about building in there with a H100i v2 and haven't been able to discern for sure whether or not it would fit. Thanks!

only issue is the length of the GPU with the fans on it otherwise fit like a glove :D

Thanks! Sick build

How much space is it between the GPU and the fans mounted on the AIO? Thinking about the same setup, but I'm concerned with the space.

Amazing build! In picture 6 it looks like you don't have motherboard standoffs.

i am willing to buy a similar build , so can i add a m.2 ssd (ex. 960 pro) at the same time i am filling the 2 pcie lanes fully (2x8 lanes = 16 total ) as this cpu has just 16 pcie lanes??

Here i found this which is kinda helpful and explains what you asked a little bit http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3071507/sli-ultra-pcie-0x4-motherboard.html

Nice build & part selection!

I'm considering buying this case for my next build and was wondering why you bought 2 more fans when it already comes with two. Isn't 2 enough?

  • 1 point

It's supposed to come with two mine only came with 1 which i thought was really weird but I dint care since i was swapping them out top RGB ones anyways and yeah i mean more fans cant hurt i just like to fit in as many as the case holds

  • 1 point

Thanks. I should probably order a spare just to be sure I have enough fans at build time.

ugly cpu cooler , u may replace it with the new nzxt RGB led liquid cooler

Eh this build doesn't exist anymore I vinyl wrapped the case and it now has cross fire r9 380s in it with a i5 6600k, you can see my other build on what i did with the 1070's

Great build. Love the attention to detail! Iv'e noticed that you have taken this build apart and moved it into an NZXT case. When you had this together did the two GPU's touch the fans at all? What was your reason for changing cases? I am looking at doing a similar build in the Fractal Define C Mid tower with two ASUS STRIX 1080 OC's and a NZXT Kraken X62 in the front. Also how were your temps?

  • 1 point

Thank you but yeah I moved it out of this case due to the fact the SLI got to temps I personally wasn't comfortable with in some games. Which is odd because the benchmarks through 3dmark and also heaven were great, temp wise. The cards themselves did touch the fans but just barely and wasn't an issue installing them or getting them out, more like a well fitted glove. The case is built super well and sturdy, IMO more sturdy than the s340 i have the 1070s in now, but if you plan to SLI in this case I would maybe say skip it or do a custom loop liquid cool with it just because in dishonored 2 my top card hit 103c and as soon as I saw that I didn't touch it until I got the new case and other parts, Right now I'm running crossfire r9 380s in the build because I can put the second GPU in the lower PCIe slot in my mobo because it only runs at 4x and because this case has a 5th slot I can have a 1 slot gap between the two GPU's and the temps are great with it. Sadly do to NVidia needing at least a PCIe lane of 8x and with the mobo I have limited me to have a 0 slot spacing which is were it went wrong, If you can find a mobo with a 8x-4x-8x setup in the PCIe lanes id say go for it, this is what the new build in it looks like though http://imgur.com/a/3yMsB

Great build! Did you have any trouble fitting in the gpu? I checked the spec sheets and it shouldn't be able to fit in this case with that radiator. Im planning a build similar to this so I was curious. Thanks.

  • 1 point

thanks man, and it was a tight fit but nothing had to be modded to make it fit, i used aftermarket fans that were a bit narrower though so it made it a tad bit easier, definitely post some pics after your done, i love small builds like this so itd be awesome to see
