Description

Works great. Don't have many games yet but it kills minecraft. Spent about $1800(canadian) on it. Wouldn't recommend the case though.

I don't get when people say "Oh, and by the way, I'm 13!!!?!!!" In their titles, its like they want everyone to have a debate in their comments section...

Nice build!

And to the people calling him spoiled, go sit in a corner. You have no idea if he worked for his money, or how he earned it. He obviously spent more than most 13 year Olds, but at the same time, I'd say that makes it better, because now he has something that will last for several years.

That being said,I wish I had as much money as you :P mine isn't done yet, but it's cost about 1100 or 1200 so far.

I didn't know it was only a extra $10. If I did I would have went for it though.

  • 2 points

well i think the prices have changed so it might not have been that low but the 4590 is still a good cpu and your performance would not have changed alot.

I like what you did, you did a great job little dude, do not let the hate get to you, it is all part of the internet as you will see in the future, most of the time it does not make it to PCPP, but i guess today it did. You got the parts, you put together working pc, it does what you want, and you wanted to share it. That is all that matters.

Good work and hopefully we will see more of your work in the future.

I would like to see some more pictures of the interior of the PC since you cant really see too much. But really good build though.

A 13 year old and you get $1800 to build a machine for Minecraft? Also what graphics card do you have?

  • 7 points

idk some kids are spoiled nowadays, I'm 16 but i had to work for mine which was $1100. Also why do you clarify that your 13?

  • 2 points

Just so it makes him look more spoiled I guess......

  • 2 points

He probably said that so people don't make fun of him if they think his PC build is poorly done.

Idk why added that I'm 13. I didn't do it to make it seem like I'm spoiled though or for attention.

You don't know if he worked for it or how he got the money so just take a seat. The daily salt delivery will be to your house soon.

Yeah exactly lol. Maybe to avoid criticism which might not be given to a 13 year old, or to get attention?

Gtx 970 Windforce G1 . And its for more than just minecraft

  • 2 points

Ok thanks. Yeah it wouldn't make sense then

  • 0 points

Minecraft will not even take advantage of the 970 so it is pointless.

  • 1 point

I also worked for most of the money. The rest was a early xmas gift

  • 3 points

What sort of work did you do to gain the funds for your build? And also, since you clarified that the 970 WindForce card was for more than minecraft, what other games do you plan to be playing on this system?

  • 1 point

I cut lawn, did chores around the house, sold my old snowmobile ( I was getting to big for it) and got a paper route. I'm probably going to get dayz, battlefield, cod and I'm not sure what else yet.

Looks great! Welcome to the art of PC building!

Guys, he's not spoiled. I personally have been building PCs since I was 7 years old and got a $900 laptop when I was 12.

You should have spend a bit less on your PC and a bit more on your games bro, you probably could have gotten a better graphics card for the money and you can get windows 8.1 for free off of the Microsoft website. also you could have gotten a 2tb hard drive instead of 2 1tb hard drives, unless your running them in raid 0 which you should do if you aren't already. you should post more pictures and maybe even share some benchmark scores so we can get an idea of how it performs.

  • 2 points

one drive is for games and one is for video storage. I'll post some benchmarks later.

  • 2 points

do you know what raid 0 even does? I mean the only reason you shouldn't have it is if your mobo wont support it. why not just have a file dedicated to videos instead of an entire 1tb completely for videos, 1tb might not seem much but you dont need an entire tb just for video storage, well unless you have hundreds of long videos in like 4k which if for some reason you do than go ahead and dedicate an entire drive for videos xD

  • 2 points

I have a 2tb external dedicated to TV series....... so there's that

(And another 1tb for movies)

  • 3 points

I also have a 1tb external dedicated to movies, but when he said video storage im thinking something similar to your average YouTube videos, not necessarily movies.

  • 1 point

Ah ok gotcha

  • 1 point

Not really.

  • 1 point

Well you should go on youtube and do a bit of research on raid 0, trust me it will be worth it :).

Ok. Thx

You can't get windows 8.1 for free of of Microsoft's website. You can get the ISO file for free, but then you would need to download an activator and that would be piracy. The licence wouldn't be genuine.

  • 1 point

Oh, Well i guess i was misinformed. Thank you.

  • 2 points

windows 8.1 for free off of the Microsoft website.

How? They got rid of the discounted 8.1 pro for students. And you need to be in higher education to get it through Dreamspark.

  • 2 points

Its just the ISO file that you get for free.

  • 2 points

Ahhhhh.

I thought you were talking about the actual key.

  • 2 points

Where can you get 8.1 for free

  • 1 point

You cannot get 8.1 for free. You can get the ISO for free, but you would still need to purchase the key in order to activate the product.

  • 1 point

That's what I thought.

I don't agree with the motherboard choice, but fairly good build otherwise.
