Description

I use this build for gaming. I can play Rainbow Six Siege at ~250 fps without a cap on and I can run Arma 3 at ~60 fps. I haven't had any issues and although it's expensive, it's really good for the price.

I paid $1500 for this pc as I got the 1080 for free. Recently a lot of the parts have gone up in value so it looks like I paid more than I did.

Edit: On Cyber Monday i upgraded my cpu cooler from the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo to the NZXT Kraken x62 and i upgraded my mouse from the Razer Mamba TE to the Logitech G502 HERO. At Christmas, i got a new keyboard, the Corsair K70 SE, which replaced my Razer Ornata Chroma. The photos of my pc with the red scheme was my old setup, the white ones are what i have it to now.

Part Reviews

CPU

great cpu. i havent overclocked yet, but it runs everything well. temps are steady too.

CPU Cooler

really great cooler. the infinity mirror looks really good and the fans are quite. it could be up for debate on whether this is worth the extra price for the same performance as some corsair aios, and that depends on how much you care about aesthetics.

Motherboard

great mobo that looks cool too. the asus aura software is easy to work with and i havent had issues. highly recommend

Memory

great ram, but i had one issue that my other friends with 16g dont have. sometimes when i enter a gmod server it crashes due to ram issues. no issues on other games

Storage

this is fast for the price, nothing else to say. highly recommend

Storage

it had good reviews and its just a hard drive. no issues. seagate is also a good way to go

Video Card

looks cool and gives me high frames on all games. even on demanding games, such as arma 3, i can get 60+ fps. the gigabyte 1080s are cheaper though, but idk what the catch is. i got this for free so thats pretty cool

Case

cool case that has easy cable management. only 60 bucks for full tempered glass side panel is cool

Power Supply

a power supply, no issues here. its also energy bill friendly so thats cool. it doesnt matter that much what brand you get. just pay attention to the ratings and fan noise. this one is quiet-ish, corsair is also good

Monitor

great monitor but overpriced. acer makes a 27 in 144hz 1440p monitor thats significantly cheaper.

Keyboard

amazing keyboard. the white looks really nice and the cherry mx speed switches feel amazing. they are quite loud, but that doesnt bother me. the pbt double shot keycaps feel really sturdy, and so does the metal frame the keyboard is made of. my only gripe is that i dont really like the wrist rest, but i just bought another one and it was good (noo1a white memory foam wrist rest).

Mouse

great shape and i love the 67g weight. the holes are small so you cant feel them when holding the mouse. i palm grip, but this mouse might be even better for claw. only issues is that there is a bit of side flex, so dont press in too hard on the sides or you might activate your side buttons. software is great and easy to use. wish i could go below 400 dpi though.

Headphones

awesome headset. its really comfortable and the sound quality is great. the 7.1 also works great. only issue is that the mic isn't very good quality, but its fine for talking to friends over discord. if you record audio for youtube or something, i would recommend investing in a blue yeti mic or something like that

Also nice case choice, I have the same one lol, may I ask why you didn't go with all black? It doesn't seem like there's anything else white in your build, and red LEDs in that white case look terrible IMO

I personally like the white. In person, when behind the tinted glass panel, it looks more light gray. For me, that matches with my desk, which is white, my cpu cooler, which is primarily silver, and my mobo, which has silver accents. My gpu also has white lights and silver and white accents, so I think it goes together well. I recently got corsair ml120s for my case and cpu cooler, and those have white blades as well. That's only my opinion though, I think the black case would also look great and I almost got it.

i made it myself (sort of). I got the wallpaper from http://www.facets.la/wallpapers/ and then added a red filter on it. i got another photo ( https://www.google.com/search?q=red&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS805US805&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjcq6Of5N7dAhUHS60KHbkRDtoQ_AUIDigB&biw=2560&bih=1329#imgrc=8pOeFaOi6OMmxM: ) and put it on top and increased the transparency.

Did you have any clearance issues with the CPU Cooler?

no i did not, but it was close. if you have a smaller mobo than you may have issues with ram clearance, but this will fit in most cases.

Could you provide a link to the Asus Monitor you mentioned? I was planning on purchasing the one on this list, but if there is a better priced one I'd love to take a look.
