Description

This is a beast, I use it for gaming and editing, and it plays games like Metro Last Light, BF3, and ArmA 3 on Ultra settings at 1080p. And also I haven't set up the fan controller for the Phantom yet.

Edit - I got a new desk and have the 3 monitors setup, just need an adapter to have the third one working.

Just a little question, why the phantom over the 530?

I'm not entirely sure really.

The Phantom's still a really good case, and the 530 just improves on it. So you really didn't lose anything in that. This is a fantastic build.

Just a question:

Why does it show Sapphires in the pictures, but in the parts list it lists the ASUS model?

I was just wondering because I ordered two of the ASUS models and was wondering what your take on them are. Did you decide on the ASUSes but then decided to go with the Sapphires and not update the parts list?

If so, what was your reasoning?

  • Price?
  • Performance?
  • Availability?

PS, I love your case. I am the proud owner of an all black original Phantom myself. I absolutely adore these cases. My only gripe with it is no stealth mounting options for SSD's, and I could use a few more millimeters of space behind the tray to tuck wires and such.

I went with it because it was a little bit cheaper and I know Sapphire have really high quality products. I love this case, my old computer can fit inside it as well...

Was trying to figure out why the build cost was so high and lo and behold the PSU is somehow $800 ******* dollars on Amazon.

For once the term beast is properly used. Well done.

EDIT: You might check to see if you get performance differences with one or two CFX bridges. I've heard of people getting weird things with two.

Alright, thanks for the tip, will do.

Are those the Gskill Ripjaws x ram? Im thinking of buying some ram but im not sure if it will it under the havik.

Yes they are. The outside stick is no problem at all, the inside just has to go in on a weird angle, but it does fit.

It's really good, getting 100-180 fps in BF3 on Ultra 1080p.

Is the 850w PSU holding up well? I have a gold rated 750w PSU, and i'm thinking i need an upgrade before my second MSI R9 280x arrives. I'm curious what I'll need for that crossfire.

It's doing really good, haven't had any problems with it, and it was easy to setup.

Why does it say tiamat and arctosa in the part list but you have the deathstalker and chimera in the picture?

  • 1 point

The Chimaera isn't available on this sites list, and they were out of Acrtosas so I grabbed a death stalker and didn't feel the need to change it.

Question; Can I take this build? Would it hurt if I can change the tower? Also; would these specs, allow games to be on high settings?

I'm not sure what you mean by take it, but if you mean copy, then sure. I don't see any harm in it as long as the new case has enough space. Easily, playing BF4 on Ultra 1080p at 100 fps.

where did you get your case

You can get it from newegg for fairly cheap, although mine arrived a little bit damaged. no worries tho, my build is still everything I wanted

Nice build. I would have like. To seen 760 but I love the build. I also think the the headset can be changed to one with surround sound but a great build.

I was going to SLI 2 770s but AMD is cheaper and runs most of the games I play better, so I went with it. I use Razer Surround with the headset, so technically it is Surround Sound. It was a great learning experience.

Sorry for the long reply time. I got it at Canada Computers; which is where I got all of it, although they had to order it because they had none in stock. You can get it only from here you just have to use the drop down option and select "Extended" for $39.99

So, does anyone know why it only shows half the RAM then?

Dead stick or dead slot is my guess. try moving ram around.

alright, will do. Thanks.

It could be because it is in at "an odd angle" try rebooting with only 1 stick. Test both, this will see if you got a RMA to do. If not, it is due to the angle :/

have you figured out what was wrong with the ram?
