Description

Initially I decided my case to either be the O11 Dynamic or the Phanteks Evolv X. Due to Evolv X's delays, QA and shipping issues with the tempered glass, I yolo-ed and picked up the O11 Dynamic instead.

Since Newegg refused to supply the Phanteks Digital RGB fan frames in Canada, I just went for the normal 12v RGB fan frames.

I use Linux as my Host OS and I use GPU passthrough for my Windows 10 virtual machine. I am not able to passthrough the GPU when it's in the primary slot so I am currently forced to use the 2080 in the bottom slot.

Overall very satisfied with the build now since it's finally stable; runs and games like a beast.

Update 1: Using bios revision 1103, I am now able to run memory @ 3333mhz 4 dimms no problem.

Nice use of the Case, i was interested in that too but ,at Bottom i would need 280mm radiator clearence, and that would destry the purpouse of this Beautiful Case +1

Yeah too bad there's not much room at the bottom. Right now the bottom video card has about 1 mm between the card and the 3 bottom fans.

Good to see that you got the memory running properly. I ran 2x16 instead of 4x8 and didn't have too much trouble, although my setup is stable just a hair under 3200. (I imagine that a little more voltage would get me to 3200 but I can't be bothered.)

That's a lot of fans! Love the case.

Thanks! Yeah 2933 vs 3200 only give you like 40 more points in Cinebench. Not sure if that's even worth the time.

Eyyyy! KVM/QEMU brother!

Shame the 2080 can't be passed through in the primary slot. Have you attempted Looking Glass yet? The hardware seems good enough to do that: https://looking-glass.hostfission.com/

Ya thanks bro. I got it working but for 4k 60fps it's not that smooth =/.

The dev is working on making the performance better, potentially seeing if NvFBC will work for making the capture better vs the current DXGI based capture solution.

Always excited to see other 0-11 builders like my rig as well. Did you notice the thin protection film on the inside of the tempered glass it was almost so clear I didn't notice and I wonder how many people thought the scratches were from the glass but not actually realizing it's on the film. Did you have any problems with the front IO panel working both my USB ports 3 ports did not work and I'm still waiting on a replacement? Did your motherboard allow for proper clearance for the front panel 3.1 USB port my Asus Prime Pro did not? Really enjoyed your post thank you

Hey, yeah I noticed the protection firms on both sides. With my huge graphics card at the bottom, I am not able to use the 3.0 ports because the header cable is too big. Even when I only had three fans at the bottom, it was bent at an extreme angle. I ordered a USB 3.0 header extension cable from Aliexpress so that should resolve this problem.

The USB ports work fine but my case came with two different problems. The end of the top panel was bent on one side, I could not close the case at all. My front panel also had micro dents/damages on the tempered glass. So I went to Lian Li's main website, Contact Us page and told them about it. They shipped both tempered glass and top panel to me from Taiwan to Canada and it arrived within 2 days. If you have problems, just contact them.

I'm also looking at USB 3.0 header clearance issues as I'd like to mount a 360mm rad in the bottom of my case but noticed right away that the Dynamic's 3.0 cable was going to be an issue. Really curious which extension cable you ordered and if it solved your clearance issue!

Do you know if this cable can be bought from a US retailer? I am building a PC now and dont want to wait 30 days for shipping.

kuroko142 submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Hey, I am not from the US but from a google search I found this:

https://www.moddiy.com/products/USB-3.0-20%252dPin-Internal-Header-MF-Extension-Cable-%28Low-Profile-Connector%29.html

Just search google with a similar search name like USB 3.0 20 pin header extension or something. I am not familiar with that company so please make sure you check where else you can buy this and if this site is legit ;) $20 USD for that cable is a lot.

It came today and it works as expected. :)

Sweet! Thanks for the reply! If you upload a new pic showing I'd be super grateful! :D

Hey I added a picture of the cable. I dont want to take a picture of the cable installed since I would have to take out the video card to do so. But you get the idea.

I think I had a heart attack from your color scheme... and it's eye pleasing luminescence. +999
