This is an update upon my previous build I completed 9 months ago therefore some of the pricing may be a bit different. I have tried to recall some pricings from when it was first purchased but they may not be entirely accurate.
The main changes to this build are purely aesthetic changes such as the sleeved extension cables from pccasegear which look so much better than the plain black heat shrink cables. This meant that the cables became too long so I had to install the PSU cover to hide the excess cables. Some of you may notice a Noctua fan peaking out of the side of the shield which I had not had the time to remove as it was originally used to provide extra cooling to the volcano of a graphics card. I've now moved the drive bays into the lower slot to allow more direct airflow from the front AF 140 fan.
Another new item is the Kingston HyperX Cloud which is a great step up from my old Turtle Beach PX22 headphones which were alright but not great. This combined with the supreme FX onboard sound card makes games and music a pleasure to listen to with less ear irritation from prolonged use. I also recently purchased the Swan M10 speakers to use in conjunction with my headphones. These speakers are used when I just want to listen to some music whilst doing another task without headphones on. They are also useful for when my friends come around. These speakers are fabulous and provide excellent sound reproduction for their size, the base is also very solid for Dubstep and games.
I ran into an issue when I found out that the speakers used the same input jack as my headphones but thankfully I was able to circumvent the issue by using an audio jack on my keyboard to quickly swap connectors without having to dive behind my pc. These speakers are also useful to cover cable mess as the table is glued to the wall so I have to rout the cables to a hole behind the subwoofer.
I wanted better audio than the removable microphone on my HyperX Cloud headphones so for Christmas I recieved a Samson Meteor USB Recording Mic. I made several Skype calls to my friends and they noticed a massive difference in sound quality. I plan on getting a stand for the mic in the future so it dosent clutter up the table. In the photoshoot, I decided to include my laptop which I recently received back from RMA after 7 weeks! This is purely because this is part of my epic battlestation.
The last but not least new inclusion to my setup is the new mousepad which is the RAZER Vespula. The reason I bought this was that I needed the wrist support as my wrist was starting to hurt.
Plans for the future in order of when they are going to happen
1) A GTX 970 because it has lower power consumption and has an available Waterblock for it.
2) Full custom water loop because I want to make my pc look cooler (pun not intended) and because I want to take my build to the next level.
3) An RGB Mechanical Keyboard because I love customisability on everything.
4) A second GTX 970 with Waterblock because I want to go for a triple monitor setup. This is stretching far into the future as upgrading a water loop is very difficult and I don't have that much money to spend
5) Triple Monitor setup for the lolz
That is all folks! I will do another update sometime in July! Until then, DeathJester11 Out!
