Description

Can you fit a 280 mm radiator at the top of Corsair's Crystal 570x?

The answer is Yes! However you need to make some sacrifices.

In this case, cooler and mobo trio, I had to remove the heatsink of the north bridge of MSI x470 Gaming Plus. I also aligned the bolts of EVGA's CLC 280 fans to align with the center of Corsair's Vengeance LPX RAMs. In the end of the day I was able to complete it. Two things to consider in this installation method: RAMs should be low profile; and one of the memory slots will not be available.

I aimed to keep the system quite simple. This is why I did not prefer any 2.5 or 3.5" drives. I especially hate HDDs and I want them buried in the halls of history. As I chose only a 1 TB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2 for storage.

The rear section of the case was quite spacious as I did not use any unnecessary SATA cable thanks to EVGA's Supernova G3 650. As you can see on the photos, I changed the positions of fan controller and hub that came with the case. So the cable management was made in a much more practical way.

On the other hand, I chose the video card as Asus although it is not, because it is the most similar one to my Colorful iGame GTX 1060 U-TOP-6G which is not listed on PCPartPicker yet. I know this CPU deserves at least GTX 1080; however this card is a fully cut for a mostly developer - rarely gamer man for now. But what I would not say No to a RTX 2080 in the not-too-distant future.

At the end of the construction, I have obtained the desired temperatures. Air flow of the system is flawless. Now I'm ready to switch to my new build and I am very excited. Thanks to all for great inspirations.

Part Reviews

CPU

The easiest choice for my 2018 Cyber Monday build. 2700x is by far the best processor of 2018 in terms of price divided by value. Following the Amazon's undeniable 20% discount, it was unthinkable to build a system without it.

CPU Cooler

This is one of the best closed loop CPU coolers for the price out there. While idle 20-28°C = 68-82°F. Under load 50-58°C = 122-136°F. Very satisfying.

Motherboard

Frankly the only reason to choose this mobo was its price. Dropped 35%. Yet enough fan headers and heatsinks. I just wish M.2 slot would have a heatsink, too.

Memory

Simply one of the best low-profile 3000+ MHz RAMs in terms of price divided by value.

Storage

Real turning point. 3500MB reading and 2500MB writing speeds per second. This beast doubles its closest opponent.

Case

Still one of the best computer cases after 2 years of its release. Super-duper cooling thanks to the four-sided tempered glasses. High quality materials. Easy cable management. Glorified disk holders. SP120 triple pack fans w/ hub and controller. I just wish there would be an on/off button for lighting near the Color, Mode and Speed buttons. And a remedy for handprints and dust!

Power Supply

I had been disasppointed for missing the 750W version on Black Friday. Fortunately right after I got the opportunity to buy this by 40% discount. One of the best power supplies in terms of featues. 80+ Gold means 87% efficiency. It can be even 90% with Eco mode. Fully modular with relatively thin cables. Power on self tester. 7 years warranty. What more can be asked?

Case Fan

Extremely quiet and perfectly cool. The best work of Swiss other than watchmaking.

Sleek! I love the simple well balanced touch of red. The cable management is also so clean. I'm so happy Yennefer could inspire more beautiful builds!
