Oh boy........ where to start with this Jerry rigged beast. For those of you wondering if the damned thing works, I'M TYPING THIS DESCRIPTION ON IT!!!!!! (takes deep breath to avoid the rage). So I got this wild hair up my *** to build a gaming PC, and as i had $600 at the time along with all of the other peripherals in my possession, I took to Ebay to track down a used PC as i didn't want to build one from scratch, and after 5 minutes of searching i came across one of the best deals I have ever seen in my life (drum-roll please.......). A Dell Optiplex 990 with an Intel Core I7 2600, for the astonishing price of $169 including shipping. so i pulled the trigger. then I took to Amazon to get the rest. Unfortunately if I were to have bought the ram with everything else, i would have been $30 over budget, so it used 4gb of ram for a couple of days (luckily I knew a thing or two about how to get around that problem without spending money) And the wolf in sheep's clothing gaming PC was born and it has been doing fantastic. I ended up spending $570 on the computer and it's comparable to some $1000 gaming PC's
-ram being in adjacent slots, the first two dimm slots died
-the lack of photos, and low quality of said photos
-the spaghetti monster (although improved in the second photo)
-(7/16/18) got the HDD caddies today (shown in third photo), now i can move the pc without worrying about it to badly, which im gonna have to do to fix the innermost ram slots. Case fan mods coming soon!!!!
-(7/19/18) motherboard is slowly killing itself, had to pick up a new one. this is the reason the two innermost dimm slots died
-(7/22/18) the new motherboard is on its way, it is an asus maximus gene, the reason this has to happen is that there are capacitors bulging on this computer, with one that has melted itself off its leads. cant say for sure the dell motherboard is going to last without a lot of capacitor replacements
-(7/26/18) about to begin the evolution of this gaming computerwill post link to new version when ready
It is astonishing that this holds strong in 2018! i have beenm gaming on it, multitasking, and overall it hasn't locked up once. cant wait to see what this thing'll do with a base clock overclock!!!
This is the stuff i swear by. i have not had it fail on me yet, and ive had it in my laptop for half a year, and i powerused it like crazy until i got my more powerful desktop
Already installed it in two systems, and neither of them has given up the ghost!!
Fantastic!!! The one i got had been used for mining, so the thermal paste was in crappy condition. but thats besides the point, it works. max temp ive seen after the thermal paste swap was 72 C
with how much my system pushes it. it holds up strong
This keyboard has been amazing to type on, im not used to the smaller keys on this board though, so i often mistype words, but when it comes to gaming it does really well. cant say im a better gamer because of it. but it does allow me to react a little quicker (best i can do with 35 ms of lag from the monitor)
Love the buttons on the side of the mouse!!! it makes it easier to play games with a lot of spread out keys (looking at you fortnite)
