Description

Built this little beast for my wife

Update Dec 15' Added 2GB EVGA GTX 750Ti FTW

First time ITX build, a lot easier than I thought it would be, transferred all of my retro games collection from Blinky (My other build) to this little beast where is lives behind my TV in the living room.

Very happy with it!

Really happy with it! It boots up ridiculously quick, faster than my monster rig anyway, I'll keep my eyes peeled for the build :)

I was a little anxious when I finished the build about how well it would run epsxe, but everything is running perfect even with all the gpu plugins and tweaks, dreamcast and n64 also running as well as they do on my 8350fx build

If I built this and installed a gpu with 2gb of VRAM would it be good to run games like CSGO on max settings?

Is this good for running MMO's and games like CSGO and such?

Can'y say that I have tried them to be honest, I looked on youtube to see how well the g3258 onboard gpu ran games and it looks pretty impressive for what it is.

Cool build! Go the budget retro emulation rig! I think I might look in to this.. The picture quality is fantastic considering it's scaled up to a modern TV.. I have the original systems (NES/SNES/64 etc) plugged in and it looks terrible :/

Have you attempted any overclocking on the CPU at all? PCSX2 I know is very CPU intensive to where stock Pentiums struggle on some titles to get 100% performance.

Also, what emulators are you use for each console? As well as are you using a front end for them such as Emulation Station, Hyperspin, Kodi, or Launch Box?

Haven't done any OC'ing yet but I did manage to play Devil May Cry 1 nicely for a good hour, no dips in fps that i saw (2x native resolution), quite surprised really. I'll update the description with what emulators I'm running. Not using any front ends, only heard of hyperspin, will look into the others though.

I was using Emulation Station for a while, but switched to Launch Box. Both are great though.
